Why should any party accept blackmail? Trump, nor does anyone else, have some constitutional right to join a political party and use it’s infrastructure to run for office. Trump can run as a 3rd party right now, or join one of the countless existing ones (50+).

Trump should just go independent. Let him spend his money creating a new party and getting on the ballot wherever he can. The man doesn’t have the discipline or temperament to last through a whole campaign anyway. The Republicans should just call his bluff. That alone will cause him to go into a twitter rage and spent countless hours rage tweeting that this person and that are “dummies”, “stupid”, etc.

He is a bigger problem distracting from the GOP’s nominating process than he would be as a 3rd party bid. Without him real conservatives like Ted Cruz would get more traction.

If Trump runs 3rd party, he knows he has zero chance of winning. He would be running to guarantee victory for his dear friend, wedding guest, and fellow elitist New York Liberal, Hillary Clinton. At least he won’t be able to help her in Ohio.

How funny would it be if Trump ran his attempted spoiler 3rd party bid and at the same time donated to Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. That might be a first. You know you'd still have a fair share of Trumpsters that would make excuses for and forgive him doing that. They'd say it was all part of his genius plan (that naturally he won't be able to actually explain).

Republicans can pick up the pace of investigation/prosecution of Clinton. They’re not doing themselves any favors with this slow walking.

Funny because the Code requires certain filings, and does not seem to suggest Husted can just decide to count participation in a debate where Trump refuses to pledge allegiance and will not swear off a third party run.
Maybe Husted thinks he is Obongo.

LOL

Yes, and Alice in Wonderland is simply a real life accounting of a real life event.

Cruz at best has to defeat the early primary system that since 1996 has prevented any Conservative candidate from getting the Republican nomination.

You have chosen to look at this from the Republican point of view. You presented it somewhat decently. Do you think a candidate should have rights at all?

What if Trump goes to a Republican debate and they deny him participation? Should they then be able to say, “Well, just too late. You already decided you were one of us, and we don’t want you.”

Shouldn’t he have recourse? According to your comments, it appears you don’t think so.

I disagree.

Unfortunately Trump doesn’t need to win in any state to guarantee a Republican loss.

I’m suspected of being pissant apparently lol.

Interesting that you speak of pissant in such a familiar way. He was banned a long time before you signed up.

Can they legally keep somebody from running for President? This isn't a state
office, it's a national office so it makes sense that they cannot stop Trump
or anybody else for that matter if they have the signatures to run on the ballot.

I in no way support Trump but this isn't passing the smell test.

The cutoff is 4PM on the 19th day before the primary.

Correction:

The cutoff is 4PM on the 90th day before the primary.

“According to “sore loser” laws in the state of Ohio, any candidate who has chosen their party essentially can’t, at the last minute, run on a third-party ticket in the state.”

That is a STATE law, not a FEDERAL law and this election is a FEDERAL ELECTIION. They can use their law to control state offices but not federal offices.
