Montgomery County has erected a wooden box around a Confederate monument recently spray-painted with the words “Black Lives Matter,” in hopes of shielding the statue from further vandalism as officials seek to move it out of downtown Rockville.
County workers put up the barrier Friday, about a week after the words appeared across the base of the 102-year-old bronze statue of a Confederate soldier

As a Northerner, may I say this to the Southerners doing this:
Rot in Hell.
How about an armed guard instead?
The out of control BLM ilk will cause a shooting war practicing intolerance in their quest to rid the nation of intolerance.
They daily make it evident that nothing is off the table and fresh victories only make them bolder.

My apologies. Not Southerners...I thought it was in Montgomery, Alabama.
Is it a hate crime to deface an official Confederate monument? Or does the federal government now dictate who we can or cannot hate?
How about at least a security camera?
Can I put a wooden crate around Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton?
Don’t know about a hate crime, you would have to show a disparate impact based on a type of protected class, but if on Fed property it is a crime, state too.
You could lure them in by telling them a camera is in there.
We basically were southerners.
I have friends from Monty Co (long time, family farm for generations) who are definite confederate sympathizers. Of course these particular farmers have ancestors from the rebel side. Yet, being southern and from Monty Co., they vote Dem usually.
How does it feel?
So since it was northerners that did ‘this’ it is OK then and they need not rot in hell?
Well, Baltimore has a DA with a Confederate name (Mosby). When are they going to force her to resign?
Ya, no kidding, like I said Sheila Jackson Lee better start shopping around for a new name quick fast and in a hurry.

To the “black lives matter” crowd...
No.... it is evident that black lives don’t matter.
And what is even more evident it that they matter least to blacks. So if they don’t value them themselves, why should they matter to me?
You know what I intended, and yeah, they can rot in Hell.
People who are doing these things down south classify themselves as “southerners” which they can do by birth, but they are just as hateful towards the south that you know.
Blaming Northerners isn’t going to make it go away.
The people doing this kind of thing, North or South, can rot in Hell.
What’s happening to Confederate symbols now is equivalent to how in the ancient world, when one nation would conquer another, they would smash the idols of the defeated and install their own idols in place.
