Donald Trump leads the Republican field in University of Akron/Zogby Analytics poll

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Just when you thought there couldn't possibly be another poll to wrestle with as the deadline nears for setting Thursday night's Republican debate stage, the University of Akron is out this afternoon with a fresh survey.

Akron's Bliss Institute of Applied Politics, partnering with Zogby Analytics, finds real estate mogul Donald Trump leading at 25 percent among likely GOP voters.

It's not clear whether Fox News Channel, which is broadcasting the debate and calling the shots, will include the poll among the five it will use to pick the 10 candidates who will be invited on stage for Thursday's 9 p.m. showdown.

The Bliss/Zogby methodology -- it's an online survey -- may work against it.

After Trump, next in line is former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 17 percent. Then comes Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker at 9 percent.

Zogby +8 is in the middle. NBC has it as +4 and Bloomberg, and CBS has it as +11 so it is in line

Gawker released Trumps cell phone number... and Trump cracked the code.. He took the number and put a ‘Trump Ad’ on it. This is why he’ll make a great President... he can think on his feet.

Are there any polls that are asking people which candidates they approve of instead of just asking their favorite (i.e., using approval voting instead of plurality voting)? If Trump's 25% is all of the anti-establishment vote and the other candidates are splitting the pro-establishment vote a dozen ways, then 25% isn't going to be enough. Or to put it another way, how many of the 75% will go with Trump when their favorite drops out?

Another way of putting this, that just occurred to me: If Trump and multiple non-Trump candidates appear at the national convention, how many of the non-Trump candidates who understand they are not going to be nominated will give their delegates to Trump?

Trump is handsome, Melania looks gorgeous, and Bill is stuck with some blond, ugly old hag. Bill must be eating his heart out with jealousy, lol.

By your argument someone who is getting 6% poll number has 94% against him?

Actually 25% in a field of 17 candidates is amazing!

As the field winnows down, the poll numbers of ALL remaining candidates will grow.

Bill and Hillary are smiling ear to ear because they like this rich dude Trump who has money to donate! Doncha know every professional politician must kiss the ring of their rich donors?

So you think Trump donates to liberals... Yep.

But that is not where that photo is from.

If Trump did not donate to liberals doing most of his business in blue states, he would have business failures galore. Actually he donated equally to both parties.

Trump never was an elected republican or a conservative radio host like Limbaugh, or a conservative blogger like Breitbart. So he donated to whichever politician to shield his businesses from attacks.

This is so basic, I do not know why I bother explaining.

Trump’s appeal also extends across most major demographic groups, the Monmouth poll found. Among Republican voters aged fifty and up, he is leading Bush by eleven percentage points and Walker by fourteen points. Among G.O.P. voters under fifty, his lead is even bigger: sixteen percentage points over Bush and seventeen points over Walker. As might have been expected, he has a big lead among Republican men: about twenty percentage points. But he’s also picking up considerable support among Republican women: twenty per cent said that they supported him, compared to twelve per cent for Walker and eleven per cent for Bush.

Numbers like these make it difficult to pigeonhole Trump.
