Officer in Kentucky sued over handcuffed kids
WWMT-TV ^ | 8/4/15

The ACLU is getting involved after a sheriff's deputy in Kentucky was caught on camera handcuffing a child.

Deputy: "You can do what we've asked you to, or you can suffer the consequences."

Child: "Ow, that hurts."

Deputy: "Now sit down in the chair like I've asked you to." The adult is School Resource Officer Kevin Sumner. You can see him placing handcuffs on the biceps of an eight-year-old boy.

So I saw this story on the local Miami news.

I am not kidding....there was a woman from the ACLU saying something like, "It is easy to read about this, but the issue is much more horrifying when you see it on video."

I had to laugh out loud, thinking of the children murdered by abortionists and the body parts of the babies being used as bargaining chips.

You cant yell at the kid. (emotional abuse)

You cant paddle them. (physical abuse)

You can barely call their parents and expect that to put the fear of Jehovah in kids these days. (How dare you hurt my kid’s self esteem)

Now you have crazy children that have to be handcuffed because there is nothing you can do and the kids are getting more insane. And THAT is seen as extreme.

Some 8 year olds deserve a lot more than handcuffs.

In my Adventures in Urban Substituting, I did get to see it all. One day I was in a KINDERGARTEN class where a student went crazy and was kicking, biting, banging his head, throwing things,.... He had to be handcuffed, for his safety and for everyone else's.

An 8 year old? Some kids that age are quite large and can do real harm. Handcuffing makes total sense in many potentially dangerous situations.

I wonder how many of these know-it-alls have children attend schools where these situations arise.

If this kid was not restrained and injured another child, the cop would be sued for not stopping him.

Would you prefer he grab the kid and hold him ACLU? Should he whisper sweet nothings in his ear as he kicks and throws things?

Sounds like a crack baby. Why they decided to put kids like that and others in public school I’ll never know. Disabled kids should be in their own special school and not disrupting the other kids with their sudden, unexpected outbursts. This is just not fair to the teachers and other students who need to learn.

Same for the add kid in this story. I know there are true cases of that. These kids should NEVER have been “mainstreamed”. This whole thing has been a disaster.

If the officer had used ‘duck’ tape and taped the kid to the chair, the ACLU would be screaming, too.

It seems that trying to discipline kids — whether at home or away from home — has become a blight on society.

Someday those kids will be burning down and looting whole neighborhoods. But they will have high self-esteem about it.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

I know a woman who teaches Ferrel humans at a local inner city school. A few years ago she had her shoulder dislocated by a 4th grader.

Instead of students, they should be called inmates.

Absolutely right. The only thing missing are serial numbers.

We only saw the video but I'm kind of wonder if the kid was also drugged with some Ritalin (it's kind morphine or coccaine effect) for so called ADHD treatment. You can watch “The Drugging of the Children.”
