Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal canceled Planned Parenthoods Medicaid contract with his state Monday, moving to strip the organization of funding in the wake of disturbing undercover videos that appeared to show employees haggling over selling fetal tissue obtained from abortions.
Mr. Jindal said the videos showed Planned Parenthood workers admitting they engaged in late-term abortions and did them to try to leave fetus body parts as intact as possible so they could be sold later.
He said his state health department believes Planned Parenthoods local affiliates could be breaking laws that prohibit groups that take funding from encouraging women to have abortions.
Planned Parenthood does not represent the values of the people of Louisiana and shows a fundamental disrespect for human life, the governor said in a statement announcing the move. It has become clear that this is not an organization that is worthy of receiving public assistance from the state.

Have you forgotten that money is fungible?
Wonderful news!!!!!!
Now let’s see if PP in Louisiana shrivels up and dies. Probably not. Still, I love the gesture.
I am happy about this.....meanwhile Cruz continues to say that he will do something eventually while Jindal takes action. I can’t believe the differences between the two. Cruz will continue to drone on and on though. Jindal will continue to take action. Two different people with significant different leadership skills.....one that works and one that doesn’t at all at least in the last two years.
Yep, why did it take videos to get him to cancel.
That ties in with something I’ve pondered. The outcry about the sale of dead baby parts is horrific, but isn’t this secondary to the actual killing of the baby? Really, isn’t this the main issue? Why would anyone be perfectly fine with the killing, but sickened by what is done with the little body?
You’ve got to appreciate he’s doing something most governors aren’t willing to do.
Louisiana is the top pro-life state in the nation for the sixth year in a row. Bobby Jindal must have had something to do with that.
Bobby Jindal 2016!
I don’t know everything about American politics, to be sure, but doesn’t a governor of a state have more power and freedom to make changes than a senator?
No more taxpayer money to the BIG business Baby Butchers and Baby Parts distributors. That’s it! Enough is enough!
Why are you attacking Cruz ?
Cruz is not the Problem
How about McConnell ?
Oh funny. I had no idea McConnell was running for President. My mistake obviously. When did he announce? I am rightfully attacking Cruz because he has announced he is running for President and he wants to pass his agenda in January 2017 but can’t in August 2015? Nope....that won’t change.
At least he did something!! The republicrats in the Senate stage a total farce today so the babies will keep being sold!!
Naps, are you that unaware of the prescribed powers of a governor (executive) and a senator (legislator)?
Frankly, I'm shocked by your ignorance.
monstrous irrefutable political leverage.
Are you sure he gave them the contracts? Or did he inherit them and fail to cancel them?
“could be breaking laws”?

U.S. Code Title 42 Chapter 6A Subchapter III Part H § 289g2

(a) Purchase of tissue
It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly acquire, receive, or otherwise transfer any human fetal tissue for valuable consideration if the transfer affects interstate commerce.
And suddenly with the advent of these videos, this “monstrous irrefutable political leverage” disappears?
He's been in office since 2009. Hard to believe that the contracts wouldn't have, at least, come up for renewal during his tenure.
Nevertheless, I'll give credit where due: at least he finally canceled them.
Great!!! Now lets hear the same from the rest of the States!!!!
The GOP controls the state legislature down there as well, I believe.
How did this happen in the first place?
