CBS News ^ | July 30, 2015

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that the agency is investigating the killing of Cecil the Lion, saying it will “go where facts lead.”

The agency made the announcement via Twitter Thursday.

Also Thursday, the Eden Prairie Police Department said that, while they will be stepping up neighborhood monitoring, they will not be providing personal protection for the dentist who killed a protected lion in Zimbabwe.

“Because of the increased traffic in the neighborhood of Walter Palmer’s residence, the Eden Prairie Police Department is monitoring the neighborhood to ensure the safety and security of the residents and their property,” the department said.

... cause anything that will make Jimmy Kimmel cry is bad ... really, really bad!

... and anything that takes Hillary's plunging poll numbers ... and Clinton Foundation corruption ... and Planned Parenthood selling butchered baby parts off the front pages is good ... really, really good!

Cecil the lion was old and not pulling in the tourists he used to. his assassination was all the government could do to raise funds.

I love FR conspiracy theories.

Zimbabwe gets U.S. reparations for the cruel murder of Lion with a Name, and free publicity to boot. So it’s a win/win-lose for Z-land vs. the dentist.

Exactly, a brave ole lion that wanted to die strong. I think they need to go looking at the Planned Parenthood for criminals and let Zimbabwe worry about their own internal rules for hunting.

We have jurisdiction over the puppets that live here. Just like we can convict on the Thailand sex trade, despicable as it is.

Freedom, with all its rough edges, died a long time ago in this country.

If Cecil was a foreign soccer official, they would’ve investigated him instead

Seems like this agency needs to have its budget cut if they have the time and funds to blow on this BS...

On further thought, I’m thinking Zimbabwe could have found a better patsy. Dr. Walter doesn’t have a prominent middle name. All good patsies/murderers have to have three names.

*****Zimbabwe? ...a little outta their jurisdiction, huh?***

You'll never get them to admit that...they are a joke. The lion was way past the normal age when they die...I don't like trophy hunting, but its really none of our business. It was a quicker death than being killed by other lions. Lets give all the attention a dead lion gets to dead babies being butchered for someones stew for dinner..

US FIsh and Wildlife is the most INEPT agency in the government today. I can write a book about my experiences with those lying sacks of crap. And now they have the time and the money to go to Africa? Who the hell do they think they are?

The good fellas of Atlanta Coke Bottling (Tail Numbers ending in FH) regularly fly their Gulfstream to hunt big game along with big american politicians in Africa. They even refuse to let customs look in the plane. Once customs is gone they offload the trophies from the aft gargo hold.

Someone should apply the same standard to them as this poor o'l dentist (who I think should be given a pocket knife and spend 24 hours in a lion cage after skipping a feeding as justice).
