Gov. Jay Inslee has sharply rebuffed a campaign demanding that the state investigate and defund Planned Parenthood, describing it as the work of “national extremist organizations” trying to eliminate a vital source of health care for women, particularly poor women.
The Governor’s statement came after a letter to Inslee by seven Republican legislators demanded that the state stop funding Planned Parenthood, and a letter from 34 GOP lawmakers asking Attorney General Bob Ferguson to investigate whether Planned Parenthood has been selling organs from aborted babies for financial gain.
“Planned Parenthood provides millions of women across the country access to a full range of affordable health care and family planning services,” Inslee said in a statement. “National extremist organizations are engaged in a concerted effort to discredit, and ultimately eliminate, an organization that so many women rely on.
“Here in Washington state, where we have long fought to protect women’s access to family planning services, Planned Parenthood is on the front lines of women’s health care. I stand with them in their efforts to ensure every woman needing access to safe and legal reproductive health care can get it.”(continued)

I heard today the Republicans are going to try to reroute the money to another women’s health facility so they can’t be accused of ‘cutting money for Women’s health care’.
I can’t stand Inslee - he has always been a party line scum. I bet he thinks he can be POTUS someday.

I believe this is the state that puts IUD’s free of charge in 6th graders without parental consent. They believe they have the right to uncover the nakedness of a minor and insert an IUD? ‘A full range of health care” You mean I can go to PP for my cataract surgery, and my Appendectomy, and my cold; the full range of my health care. Who knew? And at PP I would imagine it is all free, free, free to everyone since it also provides the services to the poor. Yep, I’m making an appointment for my face lift. (sarcasm alert)
I have been poor, and I have been not poor. I have never needed the services of Planned Parenthood. there are plenty of medical providers for women all over this country. They take Medicaid, cash, good insurance, not so good insurance. There is no reason for any organization called Planned Parenthood. None.
Wouldn’t want to have a Governors mistress get a back alley abortion would you?
