What do you have against the idea of a Trump presidency?

What I have against the idea of a Trump presidency (which won't happen) is primarily I don't trust him. Have you bothered to check his background, vis-a-vis property rights, his close friendship with the Clintons, support for "universal" (read: single-payer) health care? The guy can't even decide for any length of time what political party he's with. You want to cast your lot with him, knock yourself out.

The US is a long way down that slippery slope heading to the trash heap of failed civilizations. At this point, we need a President who loves the USA and will fight for the country to survive. I can’t think of anyone else who has the skill or desire or forcefulness to do that. We’re way past the “I don’t trust him”, “he’s not a real Republican” stage.

Trump isn’t going 3rd party—Just Yet. i bet he’s going to outline a plan for his White House and cabinate positions. He’s going to “hit the Ground running” on January 20th 2017. As the top man in the polls he need not think spoiler or 3rd Party—he might take the whole banana—the whole GOP. Then, he’s going to start firing people. Maybe he will invite McCain over to Trump Tower for Pizza?

We’re way past the “I don’t trust him”, “he’s not a real Republican” stage.

Uh.. yes.. but it does help to have a candidate who actually supports those aspects of freedom I mentioned earlier. Support for the Kelo decision and single-payer aren't exactly freedom-enhancing sentiments.

Also.. you do know Trump has illegals helping to build that hotel in DC, do you not? How exactly does that align with his rhetoric about illegals?

The Debate will be a pile on Trump (with the exception of Cruz) game—If he beats them back—Trump wins. Trump and Cruz better plan a counter for all the lies and charges they will toss at him. He better be thick skinned. They will charge him with being a Draft Dodger, a Womanizer, a Cronie Capitalist, a bigot, a running dog, a fool, and a clown.

Will someone please repost this link that can be clicked on?

This is the link you want, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1sku13JYlo, not Bloomberg's worthless second-hand account.

In general, if you want to follow an unclickable link, just select it, right-click, and select Open Link. Or copy it and paste it into the location window.

Again, you're looking at micro-issues which might or might not be true. Do I believe that Trump will stop the invasion of the US when he puts his mind to it? Absolutely. The Kelo decision? That's a business decision, does not reflect what he'd do as President.

I just don't understand where you're coming from. Do you want another Republican who promises a lot but delivers nothing? We gave them majorities in the HOR and US Senate beyond their wildlest expectations, and they went out of their way to screw us. Who else but Trump can clean house in DC?

I hope he announces that IF the rest of the rinos don’t drop out and help him defeat Hillary, he’ll CONSIDER running on a third party ticket and guarantee the rinos won’t win.

First of all, Trump was brilliant in telling that Graham asked him to help him get a gig on FOX. And wanted a character reference from Trump. Now anything Graham says about Trump is followed with “But you wanted him to be a reference for you.”

Second, to Graham’s campaign frauds, no republican is going to do a damn thing about Obama’s Iran deal EXCEPT talk.

Your response is typical of the rest of the Trump backers in here with the plethora of rationalizations for Trump’s policy positions. How can you dismiss his support for the abridgment of property rights as a “business decision?” It, along with his support for single-payer, is very much germane to where he comes in on pertinent issues. For those affected by them, they’re far more than just “micro-issues,” as you put it. I do not, nor will I ever trust Trump.

Like I said to Grania... cast your lot with him if you must. He’ll never get my vote.

THAT is where I’m coming from.

Have you noticed EVERY republican is losing to Hillary by 6 points or more? That is a near landslide in electoral college.

So why choose a professional politician as the nominee after the GOP have bettered the voters for 27 years?

How is another professional politician going to change the country when they have miserably ignored the hard working middle class?

May be it is time to nominate some non-professional politician who is generating real energy in voters. It does not have to be Trump. It could be Carson or Fiorina or any other non-professional politician.

Trump was talking about what McCain called Trump’s supporters and Luntz kept interrupting “But McCain’s a war hero. McCain’s a war hero.” Like that gives McCain the right to insult anyone he wants.

I’ve never liked Luntz.

Why is it that every time someone mentions third party everyone says “You’ll just help elect the democrat.” That’s only true if the republicans stay with the rinos. Why can’t we demand the true conservatives go with the third party. If they stick with their rino then it’s they who will be handing the election to Hillary.

Trump as an indie will split the GOP vote. Hillary will sweep to a landslide victory. It’s not that hard to understand.

But hey.. all that’s just fine with the Trump backers.. and of course, Hillary’s friend, Trump himself.
