The Democratic front-runner was booed at this liberal gathering in 2007. And this year, a no-show has the base equally unimpressed.
The annual Netroots Nation conference has attracted thousands of liberal activists, the core of the Democratic Party's base, to the 100-degree-plus desert heat. It attracted its latest hero, Elizabeth Warren. It has attracted two Democratic presidential candidates.
But someone it could not attract was Hillary Clinton, the person most likely to need its attendees' help at the top of next November's ballot.
"Major unforced error. Showing up is important," said Adam Green, cofounder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, which three years ago raised more than $1 million to help Warren win a Republican-held Senate seat in Massachusetts. "It's important that people address those whom they expect a lot from. So, it's unfortunate."

Netroots Nation used to be called Yearly Kos. It evolved out of the Daily Kos world. Hillary may not be liberal enough to suit the Netroots crowd.
She could get away with buying a baby’s liver from PP and eating it with Fava beans on national TV.
When your guys got you covered in the sheep’s media, you can do anything.
They will vote for whichever psycho is nominated as DemonRAT candidate. So she can ignore them with impunity.
So far the Chicago Mob doesn’t seem to be backing a Hillary challenger.
(at this point eight years ago, Baraq Obama had already been on the campaign trail for 6 months)
I suspect the NutRooters will push hard for Hillary if she’s the D nominee.
