Republican presidential contenders Florida Senator Marco Rubio and former Texas Governor Rick Perry said Trump, with his latest bombast, had demonstrated he was not fit to be president.
At an Iowa candidate forum on Saturday, Trump dismissed Republican Senator John McCain’s reputation as a war hero, saying the navy pilot was merely taken captive after being shot down in Vietnam and “I like people who weren’t captured.”
“I will say what I want to say,” Trump said on Sunday, claiming a strong record of supporting veterans and accusing McCain of failing them in Washington.
“I will do far more for veterans than John McCain has done for many, many years, with all talk no action,” Trump said on ABC’s This Week. “He’s on television all the time, talking, talking. Nothing gets done.”

I like it! Double-Down-Donald!! I have much respect for John McCain, but he is not speaking out loud and clear on ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Donald and Cruz have chosen to lead on those issues, vs talk about talking about it.
Trump does not need to apologize. We are done apologizing to the faux feelings of the radical left wing Marxists/Democrats/Progressives.
As the actual facts come out What Trump said was, “ McCain IS a war hero. He is not a hero because he was captured” meaning his capture is not what made him a hero.
He also said the bit about liking not being captured better but again in the context even that isn’t the outrage MSM wants it to be
Rubberio and La Raza Rick have proven they are unqualified by supporting the invasion of our nation by illegal aliens.
But, he flip flopped on the hero comment. He shouldn’t have said anything about hero. He should have let McCain and others cry about it.
Man, you’d think Trump was responsible for supporting terrorists in Egypt, or the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi then COVERED-UP why it happened or who did it.. or something.
Au contraire amigo, it shows he is incredibly fit to be POTUS because he will not put up with any crap from the RINOs.
Early yesterday, I was urging Trump to walk it back.
Upon hearing the context, McCain calling Trump’s gathering (that’s us by the way) “crazies”, I no longer feel that way.
Actually, I’m a little ashamed to have reacted without knowing the entire story.
I appreciate McCain’s service as I would any individual who served. However he is not a war hero. A war hero is a man who distinguishing himself in battle or save his comrades in battle. McCain’s service does not rise to that level. Words have meaning, he is no war hero.
In his original statement he said something like, “I suppose he could be a hero but...”.
