So when does His Holy Brashness tell us about HIS military background? Oh, wait.. there is none.
Yup. McCain has done more damage to himself and this country than can be imagined. Attack him for his political “service”—he deserves everything that can be said about him on that front. And his military service does not insulate him from that criticism.
But criticizing him FOR his military service and POW experience? That’s just idiotic.
Trump was not speaking only of John McCain. He is fair game. But Trump’s statement impuned ALL of those soldiers who were POWs. Having POWs taken is a part of war. It happens. A soldier is not to be honored just because he was a POW, but because he SERVED, something that, as far as I know, Mr. Trump has never done.

Not even close to being true and on a par with some of the stupidest remarks ever to appear on this board. A total disservice to the many 'non fools' who were shot down and captured while doing what has always been one of the most dangerous jobs during war time, action over enemy territory.

He was talking about John McCain. You are using a classic PC tactic of isolating one remark and then generalizing it to include all POW’s. That is intellectually dishonest. Further more Trump said McCain is a war hero in the next sentence. This is a media/GOPe manufactured event.
lord McCain has ridiculed POWs/MIA himself. He deserves NO respect. I voted for this turkey, even when after hearing one of his numerous insane fits over 'torture' demanding a law against it. He is a punk and deserves all scorn a nation can bestow upon a traitor.
There are millions of Americans that have given service to their country that are more heroic than this pos. Those that need to point a finger at what our perfumed prince is doing to this nation forget the lord McCain of the Busy presidency. Let lord McCain explain himself on the other side.

John McCain is considered a war hero because he was awarded the Silver Star. The Silver Star Medal, is the third-highest military decoration for valor awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces. It is awarded for gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States.
You have not been paying attention, John McCain is a politically correct war hero and since he is he is above criticism.
Trump was criticizing McCain for calling 15,000 Trump supporter "crazies" when Luntz protested "But he is a war hero". Get it? You can not criticize a politically correct war hero in our PC world. Now a real war hero like the one documented by Clint Eastwood in American Sniper that is not PC, well they are fair game.

McCain has said numerous times “I’m not a hero. All I did was get shot down.” Then he smiles. It’s not an exact quote but I’ve heard him allude to it many times.
