Don’t forget unfortunately, that top brass in all military must play the political game to one degree or another. All the forced ‘retirements’ and ‘layoffs’ of senior brass under O’Venal got rid of those officers with any sort of backbone, leaving a bunch of sycophants, much like the GOPe (think Boehner, except in a uniform.) They all owe alliegence to 0.00, so there will be no stopping him in the remaining 16 months. Only God’s intervention can save the West.
We (what was formerly known as Christendom) have turned from God, so he has withdrawn His blessings from us, including allowing Athaliah (Obama) to ‘rule’. Each time the Israelites rebelled, God withheld His blessings, yet there remained a faithful remnant who believed, and were blessed eventually.
