What does this cost a nation $20 trillion in debt?

I was watching as the “phone call” came in and was happy the little spacecraft got through unscathed.
Can’t wait to see the close-ups and see what other info New Horizons sends back.

Personally I find this a worthy expense, compared to studying why adult lesbians are obese.

True knowledge is always good.

In fact, we would be considerably more advanced if we weren’t dragging an ever growing welfare and entitlement anchor.

With people like you, west of the MS River would never have been settled. We would never have gone to the moon. There have been many benefits from our space program. I have been interested in space since Sputnik. Well, actually it was years before from reading Tom Swift books. Do some research and see what we take for granted today which were developed due to our space program. I was really amazed several years ago when I did my own research.

Concerning the cost, it is negligible and well worth what we spent on this effort when you take into account the untold sums of money wasted on social entitlements, IMO.

Liberals only want true knowledge when it suits them.

I get grief from the spouse when I make any kind of reference to muzzie outreach in what’s left of our space program.

Today on the way to museum planetarium show, I remarked something about how the muzzies apparently weren’t mentioned in this bit of history.

That's what killed Apollo and the Moon program, you had the Vietnam War on one hand and the welfare state on the other.

NASA’s 2015 budget is about $17 billion.

New York City’s 2015 social services budget is $33 billion.

We watched the SCI channel all evening, with the programs about the previous missions; Rosetta, etc, waiting for the program. Did you hear the self-serving tweet by Obama? He congratulated the New Horizons team, and the national ‘leadership’, meaning himself, of course, even though he hadn’t even begun his run for the Presidency when the mission was actually launched.
