Trump-LePage ticket for new political party
centralmaine.com ^ | July 1

I propose the formation of a new political party to end the partisanship in Maine. It could be called the Bash Brothers Party, with Donald Trump as its candidate for president, and Paul LePage for vice president.

If Trump and LePage campaign nationally for the next 18 months, then they will be out of the state for long stretches of time.

I think the 2 alpha-males Trump & LePage would not get along.

LePage?

Is he any relation to the LePage who during WWII invented the LePage Glue Gun, an anti-aircraft battery that could glue entire formations of bombers together in mid-air?

I am not against what Trump is doing to publicize the extreme danger illegals pose to this country.

I am also glad that his comments are explosive enough and radical enough that is forcing liberals, media and Democrats into apoplexy (falling all over themselves to hide illegals’ statistics among legal immigrants and Hispanics in general). Further, his actions have also caused the Republican candidate slate to stop fence siting. An invaluable discriminator this is to conservatives.

The one thing that I will NOT support is any action by him to go third party Perot. He is only useful to me to the extent I’ve outlined above and to the extent that he contributes to crushing Jeb Bush.

If Trump goes 3rd party he is dead to me. I will never support him as a third party candidate. We ALL remember Perot.

Would you support Trump as a Third party candidate if Jeb is the Republican nominee?

You’re putting the cart before the horse race.

Trump will be 70 before the election - older than Hillary.

Once all his past positions and donations (inc admiration for the Clintons) are highlighted, Trump will not win the GOP nomination.

If he goes 3rd Party, he will elect Hillary, just like Perot did TWICE for her husband.

“If he goes 3rd Party, he will elect Hillary, just like Perot did TWICE for her husband.”

He is VERY chummy with the Clintons. I strongly suspect Trump has an agenda to help deliver an electoral win for Hillary. He’s oily enough to do just that if he gets a quid-pro-quo promise of favor from Hillary. I have never trusted Trump.

Sounds like it has the potential to be as successful as the Free State Project ..... or Vermont secession movement.

April 2011 Donald Trump and Eminent Domain

"...............Perhaps the only upside to this story is that in neither case did Trump succeed. The Bridgeport plan fizzled. Coking fought in court, and — in part because these were the days before Kelo was decided, no doubt — she was lucky enough to win. In 1998, a judge threw out the case.

In 2005, however, Trump was delighted to find that the Supreme Court had okayed the brand of government-abetted theft that he’d twice attempted. “I happen to agree with it 100 percent,” he told Fox News’s Neil Cavuto of the Kelo decision.

Can Republicans support someone with so little regard for the property of others? Let’s hope not."

And the Bushes aren’t friendly with the Clintons? Do you see an actual difference between Jeb and Hillary?

If Trump loses the nomination he will either go third party or that’s the last we’ll hear from him on politics. I don’t believe for minute he gives a damn about any of these positions he’s now taking 180 degrees out from where he used to stand. They are just ear candy for the gullible.

I’m hoping he goes away if he doesn’t get the nomination. I am hoping that he continues to vex liberals on illegals and that he forces our candidates to provide specificity on their positions with respect to illegals.

Regardless, I will not under any circumstance entertain the absurd notion that I have to support someone like Jeb Bush because he is the only one that could beat Hillary, even though he is second most evil. That BS has to stop.

That's why I find it a bit of a headscratcher as to why Trump gets such support here. Yes, he's most recently condemned the practice of "sanctuary cities" and criticized the Mexican government for encouraging the influx of foreign intruders across our border (even though he did say "hard-working" illegals can stay in the U.S.). Attention has definitely been needed in that area... but I will never support anyone with such a callous disregard for property rights as Trump has shown over the years. Many FReepers seem to blind themselves to the fact he's also voiced enthusiastic support for "universal" (read: single-payer) health care. On Trump: Thanks, but no thanks.

Nice job of conclusion-jumping there. Has anyone said they're voting for Bush?

Do you really think Trump third party would implode like Perot did? That he'd choose an incompetent VP? That he won't enlarge his message beyond one issue?

What I cannot tolerate is a Republican Party that is unwilling to give Donald Trump objective and fair support. The way the Republican Party has backstabbed us so badly since they've had those majorities in DC shows that we would be better off with it in the trash bin of history.
