RNC Launches Ohio Campaign aimed at Black Voters.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Republican National Committee is expected later today to launch a four-week Ohio campaign that will focus on outreach to and mobilization of black voters in advance of the November 2016 presidential election.

The campaign, called "#CommittedToCommunity: Engage, Empower, Uplift," includes a partnership with Radio One/TV One, which caters to a black and urban audience. It will begin today with faith-based outreach in Columbus and will end Aug. 6, the date of the first GOP presidential primary debate, which will be held at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

The campaign is part of an ongoing effort by the national Republican Party under Chairman Reince Priebus to recruit black and urban voters, who in recent history generally have heavily favored Democratic candidates.

Orlando Watson, the RNC's communications director for black media, says Republicans want to capitalize on interest in the presidential debate and the Republican National Convention, which will be held in Cleveland the week of July 18, 2016.

"People are talking about the convention, and the debates. People know about the Republicans coming to town," Watson said. "If nothing else, black voters are curious: 'What are they talking about?' ... We want to give them those opportunities to find out."

The RNC and the media company will host events, including a concert series and community issues forums, in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus. The GOP also is buying advertising that will begin on July 20 on Radio One stations, which include in Cleveland WENZ 107.9 FM, a hip-hop station, and WERE 1490 AM, a news/talk station.

Republican officials say the campaign also will include geographically targeted mobile advertising geared toward millennials, and will emphasize issues including job creation, education opportunities, strong families and safe communities.

If the campaign is deemed to be successful, the GOP says it will replicate it in other states.

Well, I'm no fan of the RNC, by any stretch, but, if they can help Cruz carry Ohio, go for it.

Its simple... just say “you’ve been voting Democrat for years, and you’re still poor”

Why not reach out to all voters.

It may be too little too late but FINALLY they are doing something about this. I’m glad.

The GOPe is just going to mess this up and have it backfire. Assuming of course, the GOPe actually wants the Republican candidate to win. And, that is a BIG assumption.

Those poor black voters!

I feel their pain. The RNC has been targeting me for decades, and look where it’s gotten me...

How ‘bout: We are the party of liberty and freedom. We don’t intend to do a damn thing for you, but we damn sure will fight like hell to stop others from impeding on your liberty and freedom.

I hope they engaged a black from the class they’re trying to reach for advice. Otherwise it might have the opposite impact from what they’re hoping for.

The Chinese sell a tire called Hankook. I’m pretty sure they intended a name like Hancock. Probably they looked up Hand and they looked up cock and said, “roh no! That was crose!”

Coke started a campaign in China. They sold nothing. It turns out they translated “Drink a Coke” to “Drink a dead cow.”

Why not reach out to all voters.
______________________________________________________

Well, every campaign is supposed to reach out to ALL voters. But, if there is a Demographic that votes against you 90% - 10% every Election, you might want to try to cut into that Demographic that walks lock-step to defeat you every time.

The message can be very simple.

Yo, gang. We been votin’ Democrat for like, forever. How’s that working out for us? I thought so. Shut up. Wise up. Wake up. Let’s end the stupid, yo.

Sometimes people need tough love.

“The dems have you on a plantation. If you want more of that, vote for them again. If not, listen to what we have to say.”

Kissing anyone’s ass is the path to failure. It gets you exactly what you don’t want. Hands out for more of what got them on board to begin with. And when they don’t get it, they leave. If they come it should be because they share values with us. Then they stay of their own accord.

The black districts in Ohio went 100% for Obama. Unless the GOP is addressing fraud, they’re wasting their time. But really they’re not wasting their time because Walker’s homeboy Priebus is really only trying to make the GOP into Democrat lite. This should help with that. They should get with Thad and the Mississippi GOP for help getting out the black vote. Walking around money seems to help.

We’re just going to have to face the fact that the GOP is not interested in furthering the cause of conservatism in any way, and everything they do is designed to oppose or dupe conservatives.

Because they’ve got almost half the country locked up by pretending to be pro-life, pro-marriage, anti-obamacare, and pro-freedom every two years.

Can we also mention who passed civil rights on a bipartisan vote, who had members that were in the Klan, what Johnson said about the Great Society, MLK Jr was a Republican... This stuff is not taught in schools. Put it on billboards and phone pop up adds. Buy time on BET fro crying out loud.
