Ha! Just what you'd expect.
The American news media is feeling a bit confused by two conservative Republican Lateeeeeen-ohs running for president.
Here's their dilemma: How are they to cover such an aberration?
If they emphasize their ethnicity, they might actually win them some votes among those hot-blooded irrational Lateeeeeen-ohs. Better not to mention it.
Ah, but if they fail to emphasize their ethnicity, some of their more sensitive politically-correct listeners and reders might start to think that there is some politically-incorrect bias involved. Better to make a big deal about it.
So, take a look at these two reports from yesterday.
First, examine this piece from National Public Radio -- an ultra-liberal network that pretends to be impartial. It reports on Ted Cruz as a conservative, without mentioning the fact that he is Lateeeeen-oh. The story is about bigotry and bias among the editors of the New York Times Book Review, who decided NOT to list Cruz's new book as a best seller, even though the sales figures definitely show that it was indeed a best-seller.
No mention is made of Cruz's Latinity or Hispanicity. He might as well be Ted Cross, a cowboy-boot wearin' redneck from Texas.

Sen. Ted Cruz's campaign tome, A Time for Truth: Reigniting the Miracle of America, has sold 11,854 copies. That should have been enough to earn it the No. 2 slot on The New York Times Best Seller List for hardcover nonfiction. But, instead comedian Aziz Ansari's Modern Romance occupies that spot.
As for the Texas Republican running for president? He didn't even make the list.
Some conservatives sense a vast left-wing conspiracy aimed at denying Cruz the literary and political recognition that he deserves.
The Daily Caller suggests (in the form of a "one act play") that the newspaper's gin-swilling editors are afraid to inadvertently put their "stamp of approval" on the book. (Presumably though, the Times editors don't mind placing their imprimatur on conservative firebrand Ann Coulter's new book — it's No. 11).
But Times spokesperson Eileen Murphy, in an email to Politico, has a different explanation for why A Time for Truth was disqualified: "In the case of this book, the overwhelming preponderance of evidence was that sales were limited to strategic bulk purchases."
The Times reportedly told Cruz's publisher, HarperCollins, the newspaper's goal "is that the list reflect authentic best sellers, so we look at and analyze not just numbers, but patterns of sales for every book."
However, HarperCollins, in a statement provided to BuzzFeed, insists that it has "no evidence of bulk orders or sales through any retailer or organization."
Now take a look at this report from ABC News, which expresses surprise at the fact that Marco Rubio is a Lateeeeeen-oh, and shock over the fact that other Lateeeeeen-ohs like him simply because he is one of "them" and can speak their language.
Wow. What a surprise! Lateeeeen-ohs like him, despite the fact that he is a conservative! Holy Toledo! (Toledo in Spain, not Ohio).
How is this possible, given the "FACT" that Donald Trump speaks for ALL Republicans on the issue of immigration?
Wow! Double Wow! ABC News even found one Lateeeeeen-ah who said: “I feel that some Republicans are too tough on immigration, and don’t show a lot of respect for people from Mexico and South America,” she said, referring to Trump. "But I definitely don’t think Republicans as a whole are anti-Hispanic.”
Triple Wow.... nice way of sneaking in both sides of the coin. Rubio is at once Lateeeeen-oh and member of a party that has the wrong attitude towards immigration! Down deep, in the core of his soul, Marco Rubio is really Mark Blond, a used-car salesman from Jacksonville, who happens to speak Spanish.
So sneaky. Whoever wrote the article must have attended Jesuit schools.

According to 2003 U.S. Census bureau, just 5.5 percent of the population of the Hawkeye State identifies as Hispanic or Latino, but more than a few found Rubio this week.
Steele said she thinks it’s important Rubio speaks Spanish. "It helps him communicate and connect with the community," she said in an interview with ABC News.Continue reading HERE....
