Wallace posed a real threat to the Democrats until he was gunned down.

“Liberal media types like Al Hunt haven’t called Donald Trump a Hitler. Yet.”

When they do get around to comparing Trump to Hitler, you can always think about how much Democrat Joseph Kennedy Sr. admired Hitler back in the 1930s.

My mistake: thanks for bringing to my attention. I’ve made the correction at the original NewsBusters article.

Trump is a liberal.

Yes, he is. So what is Trump's "end game"? Here's a few scenarios (surely there are others too). What say you?

* run as a Republican believing he can win POTUS conventionally;
* a democRAT plant intending to make any conservative who advocates similar policies seem as crazy and extreme as he;
* coordinating with the Cruz campaign to eventually bow out in favor of Cruz who will seem less extreme in comparison; or
* he intends to run as a Third Party spoiler candidate to siphon off gop votes in order to let H win

Trump is a Democrat just like Wallace.”

First, Reagan was a Democrat before he saw the light.

Second, it appears that three quarters of the Republican legislators we sent to Washington are Democrats & in bed with Obama.( I don’t know what he has going on for himself but they get around in and start grinning like fools and vote for his crap. He must take them to the bathhouse.)

Trump is a pragmatic business man. Liberal, perhaps on social issues but he knows that to be successful in a capitalistic system, the state has to be strong i.e. military and economics. Hence, he is not a supporter of the welfare state, he does not run title 8 housing programs etc.

That said, before I jump on his bandwagon, I want to hear his 2A stand. Carson lost me when he began pontificating against guns sometime ago. Right now, Trump has the focus of the country on the border/illegal/trade issues and that suits me just fine because it makes the rest of the wind blown reeds take a stand. If they don’t support his stands, they drop off my radar.

Caught about 1 minute (all I could take) of Meet the Press this weekend and they said the same thing, right before they discussed whether or not they should just quit reporting on him altogether so he’d go away.

Here is a real target for Trump, instead of Trump wandering off into the details of the illegal immigration debate he should be attacking the Cultural Marxist scold scum bags like Hunt who make civilized debate impossible.

“Trump is a liberal.”

Not only that but these clowns can’t get Wallace’s name right, he was George COrley Wallace, not CUrley. Maybe they got him mixed up with one of the three stooges. I wonder if they even know he was a Democrat. They are comparing an old time conservative Democrat to a modern liberal Republican and they can’t even get the spelling right. They are trying as hard as they can to turn Wallace into a symbol of Republican racism post mortem, half the dingbat liberals or more already think Lincoln was a Democrat. A hundred years from now if there is anyone left to teach or study history it will bear zero resemblance to what really happened.

I fail to see how he helps anyone in the race aside from moderates and democrats. Jeb Bush will be in the race to the very end based on money alone which leaves only (real) conservatives getting hurt.

I agree with that outcome, but I do not think Trump is coordinating with Cruz in any way. Now to be sure: I think Cruz is maneuvering for this outcome, and I think this outcome is the normal course of events as they will play out....and it's been the outcome I've predicted many times on this forum for weeks.....

Which means the Third Party thing is not mutually exclusive BTW.

I was going to put a similar question out there SEC.

I haven't had enough time lately, maybe later today when I get back.

It's a conundrum since Trump has an inconsistent past towards conservative positions, sometimes he is conservative, sometimes he's been a flaming lib.

The one thing that is clear: The man has struck a nerve. He's saying all the right things, getting them out above the head of the media and changing the narrative. Kudos to him for showing ALL right leaning pols how to make a positive difference in this pc environment.

Whatever his end game, I appreciate that a lot and give him credit for making politics fun for the first time in years.

In the past he supported an assault weapons ban, today he has some vague support of the 2nd amendment.

I dunno. I'm starting to question that.

Liberals don't write whole books that look conservative.

Yup. I looked it up. George Wallace was indeed a DemocRAT. I’m sure Mr. Woodruff meant to point that out.

And I used to believe conservatives to be smarter than democrats but it looks to me that the right words can create a whole new crop of zombies.

It's rare you and I disagree....but here's my take: SOTC laid out a scenario I've agreed with for weeks...everything except the coordination part. Trump's liberalism and lack of long time ingrained conservative instincts will raise it's head at some point. This will shock and disappoint a good percentage (not all) of his support. At that point, those people will realize that the one who is really sympatico with their beliefs is Cruz and has been all along....meanwhile, Cruz has said nothing critical of the Donald, and has been just as fearless as the Donald to boot (altho not as entertaining). Cruz will inherit the passion and bluntness caucus that is now tied up by Trump.

As for Jeb, he's got to wrestle with Marco, Christie, Lindsey, to some degree Carly and Scott also. Totally different from where Mitt was four years ago....with only Jon Huntsman in the race for 15 minutes to split the estab vote. I do not see Jeb as serious really.
