U.S. military drills stoke politics of suspicion in Texas (al-Reuters on Jade Helm 15)

To hear the conspiracy theorists tell it, a labyrinth of tunnels is being built under Walmart stores for military attacks on civilians, and an orchestrated financial crisis will lead to martial law, U.S. troops patrolling chaotic streets, and a dictatorship under President Barack Obama. […]

While such views represent the fringes of American political opinion, they reflect a broader suspicion of the federal government that has run deep in Texas for years.

The U.S. Army Special Operations Command exercise, called Jade Helm 15, has brought these fears to a crescendo, particularly in Bastrop. Some of the exercises, scheduled from July 15 to Sept. 15, will be held in this city located east of Austin.

At an April town hall meeting in Bastrop, attendees peppered a military spokesman with pointed questions, including: “Are you planning on detaining or rounding up any American citizens?” …

Al-Reuters comes out with the mocking tone and calls it a conspiracy theory. In the face of all that has happened in the USA this year too.

That the question would even be asked should indicate that things are coming unwrapped. IEDs are not that hard to build, and the Dictator wannna-bes aren't bright enough to see it.

I'm not hearing, "It can't happen here..." anymore.

The Left should be as upset as the Right is about this.

It’s a ruse.

The left is playing it up for all it’s worth; I think it’s to get us to mistreat the military.

I have an impecibile source who says that the “hostile” areas of the test are simply to utilize all the military units in that area; because ...... the people who live near those units are very supportive of the military.

I live in close proximity to Seal and SpecOps; and that makes our territory hostile, in order to utilize those units.

I’m not worried about it at all.

I talked with a retired officer from the military at my church about this who’s very concerned about this and a native Texan. He believed Obozo has purged the military and it will get worse.

I think it’s to get us to mistreat the military.

I think it’s to condition the American people into accepting the military on American soil.

But, we have military bases all over the USA .. and I’ve never been bothered by it .. ever.

According to the person I spoke with .. the opposite is true .. the military knows the people where I live will not mistreat the military .. in fact we’re known for our strong support of them; and our area was specifically chosen just for that fact.

Please don’t confuse the current admin with the American people. The military is made up of our family members; why would we mistreat them ..?? However, the current admin HATES our military (precisely because they are superior to any other force in the world).

Some people think Jade Helm is a cover to place equipment. For what, I don’t know.

I got sucked into the seedy world of fringe media, extreme right-wing paranoia
From my experience, the only people that say the phrase “extreme right-wing (fill in the blank)” are extreme left-wingers. I do not intend to register; what does this fellow say, and what exactly does Special Forces experience say about political leanings other than or more than his outburst against “extreme right-wing(ers)”?

Oh, let’s find one of the common conspiracy tales to debunk and ridicule.

Here’s one.

http://investmentwatchblog.com/proof-of-what-jade-helm-15-really-is-and-why-they-are-doing-it-this-is-very-important-you-read-your-life-may-depend-on-it/

It makes the claim that Jade Helm is the “Joint Assistant for Deployment and Execution” along with far more daffy claims, and that there’s proof of that in this file.

http://www.dtic.mil/doctrine/new_pubs/jp3_35.pdf

Someone failed to realize that normal people can quickly and easily search Acrobat files. “Joint Assistant for Deployment and Execution” is not in the file.

I didn’t subscribe either.

“Right wing” is a phrase from old French politics, as is left wing. Those philosophies are not welcomed by Americans. Foreign minds using the Internet and enjoying too much influence in U.S. politics for a short time only wish to believe that that their European desires for government are welcome here. That includes European-style conspiracy tales devised in pathetic efforts of European minds to subvert U.S. defense.

Most of the European minds using the Internet to comment on U.S. politics—less than six generations removed from Europe—to comment on American conservatism are not educated in American conservatism. Money doesn’t grow on trees, so time is on the side of real American conservatives. See Greece.

Possible. But 1200 is a small number. I think it will be way over 1200 participants. For each soldier in the field it takes at least triple that number of support personel to support them.

Follow ‘em around with cameras. If you get shot at, you know they’re up to no good. Prepare the IEDs and ambushes...

“Extreme right wing” is not from the French parliament, though. That’s an epithet from the extreme left wingers of today. And the Special Forces soldier in question is now European?
