Gov. Jay Nixon said Saturday that he is vetoing a measure that would block immigrants who are illegally in the U.S. from receiving money under Missouri’s A+ scholarship program.
He made the announcement during a speech to the National Council of La Raza, a Hispanic advocacy group that is having its annual convention in Kansas City.
The measure would have required students be permanent residents or U.S. citizens in order to get the state’s A+ Scholarship, which provides two years of free tuition at community colleges. Supporters said it was meant to limit the number of people receiving scholarships in order to preserve them for Missouri residents.

The Roman Empire did, and we are following their pattern. I can’t believe the good people of Missouri elected a left-wing hack for governor. Maybe it’s time they got their eyes opened. I guess I thought MO was more conservative than it is.

I hope the citizens of MO are watching their Gov. put foreign nationals illegally in our country ahead of citizens.
Does Mexico provide reduced tuition to Salvadorans and Guatemalans who enter their nation illegally? Don’t know the answer to that one because there are no Salvadorans and Guatemalans who are allowed to enter that nation illegally. Mexico defends its southern border, and we don’t. What a bunch of chumps we are. I would of told La Raza to go stick it.

I just don’t understand giving scholarships and free education to people who by definition cannot be legally employed in the United States while screwing over legal Americans.
