It does remind one of King Henry VIII establishing the Church of England so marriage his way (multiple ones) could happen more easily......

The Alabama Supreme court should rule against the lawfullness of the Federal Court’s actions on the grounds that there is no place in the Federal Constituiton where marrage is mentioned.

The State of Alabama should then invite the Federals ‘supreme court’ to come to Alabama and hand out their ‘marriage licences’ at Federal tax payer expense if its so important to them.

This should be passive resistance, if Federal jackboots want to show up in Alabama ask them to pay their taxes and otherwise don’t interfere with their ‘free services’.

Eventually Washington will grow tired of paying for such services in the State of Alabama and they will pull out.

The people of Alabama should call the act a blessing saving them both money and the moral problem of giving sanction to an illegal and immoral act that goes against the clear words of the Constitution and the laws of God as written in the bible.

To: Alas Babylon!

I too voted for the weasel. So ashamed of his actions. The state motto is “We Dare Defend Our Rights”. Bentley evidently missed that part of his education.

Article. I. Section. 1. All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.
