Then there’s GOP donor John Jordan of the Jordan Winery in Healdsburg, California. As noted here in the Wall Street Journal, Jordan says:
“I am pro-choice and in favor of gay marriage. I am a centrist,” he said, describing the November election as “an epiphany” that revealed to him how the GOP had to turn to “moderate centrist reasonable people who have the best interests of the country at heart.”
In other words, he is one more timid moderate of the kind that has led the GOP to one defeat after another by trying to be liberal-lite. Now? Now Jordan, exhibiting exactly the kind of contempt for the grassroots that exemplifies the New Totalitarian mentality, [...]
Someone in the party ought to start some sort of petition saying, ‘If Trump’s going to be on the stage, I’m not going to be on there with him,'” Jordan told the AP. “I’m toying with the idea of it.”
And Jordan is far from alone in this mindset. As this Politico story illustrates vividly, Trump does indeed “terrify” the GOP Establishment and they are determined to do anything and everything to stop him. If that means being a silent partner with George Soros, Media Matters, and MoveOn.org and leftist thugs — well so be it. Wow.

The GOP/republican party is dead. Trump will tell them to take a flying f**k at a rolling donut and then run as an independent. We all know what happens when that happens - democrats get elected. If Trump loves this country like he says he does, he will not run as an independent, only to prevent Hillary from getting the presidency.
I fully expect Lindsey Graham and McCain to start calling for the U.S. Military to attack Donald Trump within a week.
In the American context, such a bully poseur is anything but a centrist. Understand my point. America was founded as a new ethnic force in the world by men who understood the depth of the human struggle from ancient, through classical, through medieval times, in terms of enduring principles. They did not find what this jerk who sees his wealth as a tool to bully others refers to as "pro-choice" acceptable; and they certainly did not embrace an oxymoron, which completely ignores both the functional and sacred attributes of marriage.
In terms of American purpose, the fellow is a flaming radical; as he is in terms of virtually every form of traditional theology, still extant. (And let us look at the apparent assumption, that if the mob for the moment accepts something, that somehow makes it morally acceptable. No people have ever sunk so low as to allow mobs to determine acceptable morality, without losing their cultural heritage--as well as their property, if not their heads--in the process.
Everything else comes after that.
