AUGUSTA, Maine Gov. Paul LePage on Wednesday signed into law a bill to nix the concealed gun permit requirement in Maine.
The law, dubbed constitutional carry by supporters, won support from a broad bipartisan coalition of lawmakers in the House and Senate. It will take effect 90 days after the current legislative session ends.
The bill is one of only a handful that LePage has signed or let pass into law without his signature after pledging in June to veto all bills passed by the Legislature in protest of its unwillingness to adopt his policy agenda.

This is a good day for Mainers, the existing CCW system will be in place for resirprosity. Its fun to go the the BDN website and see the lib's heads expolding with the tired old panic about Constitutional Carry!

Yep, the liberals will be wringing their hands over “blood in the streets” over fender benders and minor arguments. But just because they have been wrong about guns every single time doesn’t mean they will change their minds.

We’ve always had pretty respectable gun policy.

I have a question ...
If a felon moves to Maine and has, or has acquired a handgun .... in the letter of the law, he's not allowed to own, let alone carry ...Or does the bill signed de-facto negate THAT part of the law ... at least for Maine ?

you could be invaded by the Cannuks. They settled the place, many Acadians fled and became "The Cajuns" once the English drove them out. French names everywhere. (LePage)

No it doesn’t. Remember that would be a federal felony..which would trump state law. But if I remember right, Maine like most other states have a state version of that code also.

Keep cutting the welfare and make it uncomfortable for the parasites. We're trying, but the bitter clinger RAT legislators love their gimme-girls and bureaucRATs.

LePage is one of the few Republicans who plays as hard as Democraps, although he doesn't break the law.
He's a model for our limp-wristed congressmen.
