Richard Nixon Biographer: Hillary Clinton Has 'Nixonian Attributes'
ABC ^ | July 3, 2015 | Rick Klein

It’s become almost cliché in American politics to call a politician Nixonian or “like Nixon” -- and it’s rarely a positive to compare an officeholder or candidate to the only U.S. president to resign from office.

Yet to Evan Thomas, the author of a new Nixon biography who also covered the Clinton White House, comparing Hillary Clinton to Nixon works -- to an extent.

“Mrs. Clinton does have some Nixonian attributes. She can be guarded and defensive, a little bit too tough on her enemies,” Thomas said in ABC News' “Power Players” series. “I saw this firsthand. She needs to watch that.”

Richard Nixon's biographer owes nothing to Hillary. so when he says she's got Nixonian qualities, he means in the absolute worst way. Anybody would. Nixon was a highly flawed man as a person and president. He knows how much Hillary hated Nixon with the impeachment proceedings and all. And I'm sure Hillary took that very badly. Call her the worst things in the world, but to call her Nixonian, to Hillary that is the worst epithet imaginable.

When the initial Chinese delegates came to Washington D.C. to visit, my N.P.S. sister escorted them around. They were interested to known the whereabouts of Watergate. Now the Chinese know every U.S. government employee who lives there.

Nixon was not a bad man. For example, he did not get rich in office.

He suffered the biggest liberal media attack ever and was run out of office over something the democrat presidents laugh about.

Hillary is a criminal. Nixon was not a criminal.

I agree with you. Nixon was a patriot. The Marxist takeover that we are seeing today, he saw coming and tried to stop. paranoia is when you imagine a threat that is not happening. Nixon was not paranoid, he was right about the threat.

Yes. I liked Nixon, in spite of his obvious faults. He was at least, for America.

Have to add: Pat Nixon stuck by him, and I always thought that was admirable.

Richard Nixon was no traitor and did not leave over 40 men to die in a Libyan desert.

I agree. He was the victim of a liberal MSM that found its power in the midst of an unpopular war.

If you want to talk about bad men, look at Lyndon Baines Johnson, Bill Clinton or Barack Obama....

None of these would have resigned under similar circumstances. In fact, even under much worse circumstances.

Don’t give Nixon a bad name.

...he gave himself a bad enough name... as a Rockefeller Pub, he stoked big Govt and had few hard to find conservative strands. The Commies still hated him for outing Hiss and did everything possible for payback...

ymmv
