'Grassroots Movement Working': Bernie Sanders Gains On the Clinton Machine
Guardian ^ | July 3, 2015 | Staff

What began as a progressive pipe dream – that a rabble-rousing senator from the nation’s second least populous state could wrest the Democratic presidential nomination from one of the most well-known politicians in recent history – is starting to seem plausible.

By way of massive rallies, grassroots politicking and a record-setting number small donations, Vermont senator Bernie Sanders is winning over progressive voters, convincing them that his underdog campaign has a fighting chance against Hillary Clinton’s well-oiled – and extraordinarily well-funded – political machine.

On Thursday, the Sanders campaign announced it raised $15m since 30 April from 250,000 donors, many of whom have made small contributions online. In contrast, Barack Obama attracted only 180,000 donors during the first quarter of his presidential campaign in 2007, which has been considered the benchmark for online fundraising by an insurgent candidate in modern presidential politics.

Right now, among various projects the Underground Clinton Election Team is working on plan A, meeting with hundreds of young gay men practicing their testimony, story line on which to accuse Bernie Sanders of having propositioned them over the years in order to stop Sanders early.

That could be a risky tactic on the part of the Clinton machine. An accusation like that would probably give Sanders a big boost among Democrats.

Who would have thought Obama would beat her in 2008? Her support is fleeting and based on nothing but name recognition. If you like the USA being diminished in the world with savages filling the void, fewer people working than ever, and focusing all the governments time on gays and their issues that trivialize the world, vote for Hillary.

The support for Sanders is probably more a vote against Hillary than actual support for Bernie Sanders. Let’s face it, Hillary just isn’t liked by many people....in fact more people dislike her and don’t trust her than those that do.

Well maybe but I actually have some neighbors’ (late 40 I would think) that actually have a picture of Sanders and Warren on the rear window of their truck. Unbelievable

I think Fauxahontas fits into the mix. #1 or # 2
O’Malley, Sanders, Warren. It will be 2 of those.

All ultra-left, freebies for all, (except the middle and upper classes)
That is 47%+ of the population, huge voting block, esp now that the SC has in effect legalized illegal alien voting.

Socialism is provably “unsustainable”, just like Bernie Sanders. The aging socialist Sanders is the (D) equivalent of Ross Perot and the effect may be similar, to cleave off an essential voting block. Go Bernie!

Yeah. Excellent point. I hadn’t thought of that. Onto plan B.
Plan B: Sanders is exchanging cocaine for Union votes

Disagree. I suspect that people on the left are as fed up with the political class as we are. We’re all fed up with polispeak and ready to embrace flawed saviors.

The best scenario for our side is: the Hag wins the Dem nomination, Sanders runs third party.

Will the Democratic presidential candidates — Hillary, Bernie, etc. — have presidential-primary debates?

If not, then the Democratic party will expose itself as not being a genuine political party but instead as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clinton, Incorporated, only posing as a political party.
