When Black Americans decided that they would throw their full support behind Barack Obama in both of his presidential runs, they set in motion a rolling stone that cannot be stopped. It is foolish and dangerous to give your unyielding support to anyone, let alone someone you know very little about. As a Christian American black female back in 2008, I got in many heated discussions with who I thought were other intelligent Christian black Americans (some were my close friends since childhood). I got the shock of my life when I was yelled at and called all kinds of names by individuals that I thought were both Christians and also my friends. No matter how many facts I presented about candidate Barack Obamas record supporting issues that were contrary to what these individuals claim to be against (e.g. abortion), they were unyielding in their support for the black presidential candidate.

Tribal self-identity trumps all.
Issues? Positions? Background? Experience? Affiliations? Sympathies?
All meaningless if the skin color is right.
Then when the mongrel in the white house was elected and numerous black celebrities talked about what a good job he's doing, etc, it became crystal clear that regardless the concessions we make to these people, that's not the point. It's always "us" against "them."

A goo question for Patricia L. Dickson’s friends and family now is, “so what did you get in these 7 years?”
Their support for the unknown black (Arab-American) translates into support for their best. If he is their best I don’t want a damn thing to do with the rest. There is/will be a backlash because of their blind support for one of the most historically ignorant reasons known - color.
I have seen this in sports with support for black Quarterbacks and Coaches. It doesn't matter how bad the QB or Coach is, many blacks have the circle-the-wagon support of those guys. It is infuriating. I have taken to calling their racist support of all things black as "cheering for the home team". I the case of Barack, they did it against their own long term interest. The damage he is doing to the country is hurting and will hurt everyone regardless of skin color.
