So you have no problem spreading lies? I would think any Christian would want to base his opinions on the truth of the matter.
crackhead pope
Red Pope Ping
I stand by what I said.
The RCC is doing Satan’s bidding.
The Catholic Church would have been better off picking a random name out of a phone book as Pope than this floater...
You don’t know me. It’s obvious.
I know what the RCC teaches. Inside and out.
I also know the Bible... They’re not the same.
I chose the Bible AFTER I learned all about the Catholic Church.
One is true and right, the other is a lie from the pit of hell.
“...picking a random name out of a phone book...”
Kinda sorta seems like they DID...
We’ve gone from Pope JP 2-Thatcher-Reagan to Obama-Roberts-Red Pope.
AA-1025 came true.
Sorry about the delay in my reply, life sometimes gets you sidetracked.
Can we earn our way into Heaven? I would agree that the answer is no. Nothing we can do on Earth is sufficient to merit the reward being offered, eternal life and happiness. In the end, we must hope and pray for Gods mercy and love.
I, and Catholics, believe however, that God does expect us to try as best we can, through Faith and Works, to merit His generosity. In addition to the Bible citation I offered earlier (Matthew 25:31-46), I offer two other facts in evidence to support my claims that God expects Works as prerequisites for Salvation, the lives of Jesus Christ and Saul of Tarsus.
I believe Jesus intends us to carry on what he started, the establishment of His Kingdom on Earth (or at least our good-faith effort). Jesus Himself, spent three years walking the dusty roads preaching, curing illness, casting out demons, and forgiving sins. All of these are Works, and our God led by example. Jesus voluntary Passion and death on the cross, is the ultimate example of a Work to benefit others.
Look to the life of Paul after he had his conversion epiphany. It’s ironic that many Protestants use the words of Paul to justify that one is saved by faith alone yet ignore the example he gave by his life of Works. Paul did not sit back and bask in his salvation, he spent (I believe) 30 years crisscrossing the Mediterranean, tirelessly Working to bring the Word of God to Gentiles, making our salvation possible. I have no doubt that if asked, Paul would tell us that God required him to perform these Works. Why would God expect, and demand, anything less from you and me?
If I (and Catholicism) am wrong, I dont believe we have hurt our chance for salvation by performing the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. (Will God be angry if I clothe the naked?) If a believer of Faith Alone is wrong, however, and does nothing to help ones brothers and sisters, I believe they have put themselves in grave peril (again we go back to Matthew). I therefore urge you, whether you consider it an obligation or not, to continue to do what I am sure you are doing, helping those you need it. May God bless you and yours.
