CONCORD – Ted Cruz won by a vote.
The senator from Texas and Republican presidential candidate edged former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, the only female running for the GOP nomination, to come in first in a New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women straw poll.
Ninety-four people voted in the straw poll, which was conducted Monday at the group’s 50th annual Lilac Luncheon, which was held at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord.
Cruz had 21 votes to Fiorina's 20.
Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky came in third, with 10 votes. Ohio Gov. John Kasich grabbed 9 votes, followed by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker with 7, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida each with 6 votes, and famed neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson with 5 votes. Former New York Gov. George Pataki, who spoke at the luncheon, received 4 votes, with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie each winning 3 votes.
The Fat Boy and Jeb were down down down
Good! Fiorina is not a credible candidate. Can’t she understand that her record as a horrible leader at HP will be used against her?
