Thirty-four Syrians were killed, including 12 children, and more than 190 were injured during an attack of over 300 shells that bombarded government held neighborhoods in Aleppo on Monday. The Syrian rebels have been battling the Assad regime for control of Aleppo since 2012. The event on Monday marks one of the largest attacks on civilians by the Syrian rebel forces according to the British-based Observatory for Human Rights, which stated, “this indiscriminate attack on civilians in the city of Aleppo took place at the very time when [the Observatory for Human Rights] was in Damascus raising with the government the issue of the protection of civilians and the urgent need to stop the use of barrel bombs.”
In the south, the Syrian Army made major territorial gains against the Islamic State in the Qalamoun Mountains on the eastern borders of Lebanon on Tuesday. The offensive, in collaboration with Hezbollah, secured the areas of Tallet Ras Al-Kosh and Qornat Ras Al-Shabah on the outskirts of government held Jarajeer, leaving many Islamic State militants wounded or dead.

What a mess!! You are right. But using air force power against ISIS is good.
Their threat of having enough nuclear material to make a dirty bomb may be grandiose, but why take the chance?
The good guys aren’t trying to kill the Christians. The bad guys would be Isis and the rebels who are the ones supported by the US government.
Every time I see the word Aleppo in one of these Syrian war news stories, I think of this short story. if we wanted to support secular rebels, we should had supported them. The only “moderate” rebels left is Nusra Front which.is.a.franchise of Al-Qaeda in Syria.

Syria was never a threat to us and they weren’t much of a threat to the region. ISIS certainly will be.
Libya wasn’t a threat to us either but obama helped overthrow them. The Obama administration was pulling for the overthrow of Egypt but it backfired.
We should certainly not be supporting the rebels.
So Hezbollah are now the good guys?

I’m cheering for Assad - because he at least doesn’t kill Christians or Druze or Shi’ites just because they’re Christians, Druze, and Shi’ites. Cheering for Assad makes me feel like I need to shower frequently, however.

There never were any secular or moderate rebels in Syria. The closest thing would be the Kurds.
We armed al-Queda.
2011-12, yes there were secular rebels. Now? The remaining fighters are radicalized.
Not to mention his attempted retirement of Netanyahu...and his lack of support for the pro western and pro Israeli student led “green” revolution in Iran.
