Mexico now deports more Central American migrants than the United States, a dramatic shift since the U.S. asked Mexico for help a year ago with a spike in illegal migration, especially among unaccompanied minors.
Between October and April, Mexico apprehended 92,889 Central Americans. In the same time period, the United States detained 70,226 “other than Mexican” migrants, the vast majority from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.
That was a huge reversal from the same period a year earlier, when the wave of migrants and unaccompanied minors from Central America was building. From October 2013 to April 2014, the United States apprehended 159,103 “other than Mexicans,” three times the 49,893 Central Americans detained by Mexico. …

Deports them North or South?
Deports them south. You can serve some pretty serious prison time in Mexico for being an illegal, worse if you commit any more crimes.. (It is a crime in Mexico to be within the borders without permission or documentation.)
The 2nd biggest source of Mexican income is their people sending back money earned in the USA to Mexico.
Why wouldn’t they do everything in their power to minimize the number of non-Mexicans taking the American jobs which “BELONG” to Mexicans..?
The treacherous USA gummint asked the Mexican gov to assist in a plan for American treachery, and instead the Mexican gummint did what would benefit Mexican PEOPLE.
Which is far more loyal than the US gummint is.
When “intercepted” the Mexicans deport them, we keep them.
Not many people realize that every Mexican citizen is automatically deputized to enforce Mexican immigration law.
If you’re a smallish, 30-year-old Guatemalan illegally in Mexico, it is technically possible to be arrested by a physically able 12-year-old Mexican.
If you’re a non-Mexican physically at ANY political rally for ANY reason in Mexico it is a FELONY.
I don’t want to quote another large chunk of the article, but read it to see the part about how fast Mexico deports them! Instead, we build them hotels or just release them with a promise to appear in court.
Headline, and article to a slightly lesser extent, confuses “apprehensions” with deportations”.
While they may be nearly equal in Mexico, they are certainly not here.
Well, if they deport 1, that’s more than us.
