Why would conservative commentators pile on America’s arguably most famous capitalist?

Is this a joke? $9 billion in assets and $11 billion is debt makes you a "famous capitalist"? I could name at least 30 men who deserve that title about this schmuck.

Does Trump still support single payer healthcare??

Trump deserves to be attacked but only on his past liberal positions

Usual blather?

What does that even mean? I guess you didn’t want to acknowledge these facts.

In 1999, said that he wanted Oprah for his veep candidate, and in 2004 said that he was a democrat, and then this week said again that he wants Oprah for his vice president, and also said this week that Clinton was his favorite president?

If you support the 69 year old huckster, do you think that Oprah would take over as president in 2020, or 2024?

Why do you always seem to be searching for slick ways to support liberals?

Because the article isn’t really about Trump. Jeffrey Lord is an historic master. He tears apart the GOP media establishment.

Again, READ. THE. ARTICLE.

“Reagan had foundational conservative beliefs which shone through during his electoral campaign.

Yes, and he was a Democrat originally, so all this BS about to whom Trump has contributed is just so much crap. Hell, I'll bet you that the Koch Bros. give money to some RATs. The way things are unfolding for the “politicians” that are running, Trump may be a charlatan of sorts, but I think he knows that the politicians are not going to do anything to fix what's wrong with America.

Trump is loudly speaking about the things the American public really want.

Really? He considers himself a democrat, he wants Oprah Winfrey to be his vice president, which means the future president, and his favorite president is Bill Clinton.

Your OK with the GOP nominating a Bill Clinton loving democrat, with Oprah as his veep?

What time frame is, “Originally?” Did you see Reagan’s speech in support of Goldwater? If not, you should watch it. That was forty years before his Presidency.

Well, to start with, Dana Perino made a complete ass out of herself on “The Five” yesterday attacking co-host Eric Bolling, who was semi complimentary to Trump. But, everybody knows she orgasms over anyone named Bush. The last 4 letters of her last name spell RINO. As Joe Scarborough said this morning: The Joke just might be on anyone who thinks that Trump is a Joke.

They’re all worried Trump is going to get on the debate stage and throw populist hand grenades. If he pulls the pin it will expose the beltway pigs for their double dealing.

So the beltway GOP & allies will do their best to make Trump irrelevant before that happens.

Yeah, it is an article that praises Trump,

Trump is bad news, and he doesn’t “resonate” with conservatives.

Yes I think he’s a spoiler, yes I think he will stick us with an establishment candidate, and yes I am certain he will gleefully skewer (or suck the oxygen out of the room for) any candidate he doesn’t think is up to snuff.

No, don’t be looking for the Mexicans to be paying for a border fence anytime soon.

Trump is an easy target. He’s the ‘short bus’ candidate and the mean kids are going to dogpile him because there’s no downside to being mean to Trump.

Except that Trump is like one of those kids who gets punched and knocked down, stands up, spits out his front tooth, and smiles...

...and then punches back.

Like Ronald Reagan or Sonny Bono, or how about Clint Eastwood? Might want to rethink your post.

If not literally double dealing, at least for not following through. By the way, very nice turn of phrase by you. It captures the establishment fears very well. All will try to make the message about Trump, not about the issues. He's not afraid of them - has nothing to lose. I hope he hangs in for a year.

“Celebrity candidates are untested and usually erratic or unstable.”

Does that include successful billionaires who are stable enough to become celebrities?

“I think it’s true that many of those running do not have a chance to win. What is their purpose of running when that is so obvious?”

You just made an excellent point. Do you hear anyone accusing any of them of doing it just to get attention? Actually, that is what it is for.

“Trump is an idiot, RINO fraudster who is only there to help Hillary by dividing the GOP.”

Boehner, McConnell, and the Republican caucus already have that cornered.

**”Yes, and he was a Democrat originally, so all this BS about to whom Trump has contributed is just so much crap.”**

Don’t be a fool, what does voting democrat in the 1930s and WWII have to do with Trump’s liberal politics of the 21st century?

Reagan wasn’t a draft dodger (Reagan served from 1937-1945), Trump was.

The last time Reagan voted Dem for President was 1948, for Bill clinton is Trump’s favorite president, By 1952 Reagan was campaigning for Republicans as a “Democrat for Eisenhower”, he kept using that anti-liberal, conservative campaigning slogan until 1962.

In 1952 Reagan was campaigning for Republicans like Eisenhower, who he campaigned for again in 1956, and then campaigned for Nixon against JFK in 1960, already having earned a reputation as an active speaker for conservatism for years.

Reagan formally registered Republican in 1962 and spoke at the Goldwater convention in 1964.

Reagan was famous for his conservatism before the Vietnam War, and the Great Society, Roe V Wade, the abortion wars, Jimmy Carter, decades of Cold War defeats, and the radical 1960s, before the Reagan Revolution and the Contract with America, and the Clinton years, and the Gore election of 2000, and two terms of Obama.

Reagan and Trump have nothing in common.
