Charlie Daniels: America Is Parting Ways with God

We all know that one of the prime motivating factors that leads to the early immigration to the United States of America was freedom – freedom from a monarchy and freedom from a societal class system that placed the working people at the bottom of the food chain. They fled to America for freedom to achieve whatever their intellect and industry was capable of, but most important of all, they came to America for the freedom to worship God in whatever way they chose.

According to William Bradford, when the Pilgrims set foot on American soil, they “fell on their knees, and blessed the God of heaven” who brought them safely to the New World after their long and dangerous journey.

Our federal papers acknowledge God, our money reads, "In God We Trust," our government buildings have the name of God inscribed on them, our congressional sessions are opened with prayer and the law of the land is founded on British Common Law and Judeo-Christian principles.

We send chaplains to war with our troops; prisoners denied most all other privileges are afforded the right to the practice of their religion; and even a condemned man can have a priest or religious representative with him as he walks the last mile.

Awesome as usual Mr. Daniels. Went to a CDB concert this past Saturday here in Reno. Awesome concert. Charlie did their rendition of "How Great Thou Art" starting off solo and then joined by the rest of the band. Choked up, watering eyes, standing ovation when they finished. CDB still has it. They might have backed off on the kick drum a little though. But I guess that's the price you pay for front row seats. LOL!

I’m sure obummer is working on eliminating all of the above.

I saw his band practice once in a Nashville Club called Cloud Nine Disco (yes it was back then in the disco era but the CDB was not practicing disco).

I do genealogy and both I and our adopted daughter have ancestors who came here in the 17th century. Several were Huguenots who first fled France to Holland and then came to New Amsterdam. Others were refuges from Cromwell and settled in Virginia. And my favorite family actually left Virginia because they were not allowed to preach unless they were ordained in the Anglican church.

America is indeed parting ways. I’m not. My family isn’t.

I assume Charlie has long since repented of endorsing and touring with Jimmy Carter in ‘76.

Roger that. Mine came mid 1600’s as part of the Dutch Reform Church and mostly settled around the Hudson Valley NY areas. Green Mountain folks.

America abandoned God when America legalized the wholesale murder of unborn children. The souls of these children, over a million a day, cry out to God for justice. Not to mention our celebration of vile homosexual perversion.

We've got a hard day of reckoning coming.

I’ve seen Charlie in concert at least a half dozen times and every time I left telling my wife it was the best concert I’ve ever seen. I love Charlie Daniels, as a musician, as a Christian brother and as a patriot.
