You REALLY need to see what happens in the BACKGROUND as Fox News reports from outside a prison

It’s like medieval times. Yes, the prison is aptly named!

Something is happening in the background, but Molly Line is so gorgeous I missed it when I watched it live.

Nobody’s ever escaped from a wall tower :-)

Yeah no need for elaborate ropes and such to sneak contraband in. Just ask one of the women who work there, they will gladly carry in chisels, lights, and saw blades... no problem! :D

(And, for just a few extra bucks, they can use this oversized duffel bag to sneak some special person in for a brief social visit with someone on the inside...)

The author of this article does not understand the difference between "elicit" - a verb meaning to draw or bring something out or forth, and "illicit" - an adjective meaning not legally permitted or authorized.

I have no issue with the substance of this article, but the grammatical solecism undercuts the article's credibility. If I were to post this article on one of the Left-wing sites I occasionally visit to act as an irritant I would be cut to pieces.

Typos in posts are one thing - we all do them. That kind of error in a published article is different in kind, not degree.

Or perhaps the author just made a clever pun.

"I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life.
I am prepared to give my life in their defense."

It was simply the Warden’s lunch being delivered by Jimmy John’s.

elicit goings-ons
Does "The Right Scoop" have an editor?

Funny, I had a student submit a paper I graded today that said a particular piece of music could "illicit excitement." I was tempted to ask the student if s/he had experienced illicit excitement, but that would be considered microaggression.

That’s a wall tower, and that’s how you get your lunch. Since you can’t leave your post, and if you didn’t bring your lunch with you that day, you have someone bring it to you. The officer working the tower lowers the bucket, and his lunch is put it in. Pull it back up, and you’ve got your lunch.

I worked a bunch of towers. I was taking stuff up, like ID cards, and other things, and was letting stuff down all the time, like keys, and other things.

Depends on where the tower is located on the wall. You wouldn't want the tower officer lowering a bucket into a yard full of inmates would you?

Uhhhhhhhh. How do the guards get out of the tower? Do they lower themselves down by rope?

They enter the towers from outside with a bit key that they keep in the tower with them for their shift. You can’t take weapons down inside the prison, so when the tower is closed, the officer brings down whatever weapons and supplies he took up with him. Not all the towers around the wall are manned 24 hours a day.

They’d still be on the inside with electrical tools from Harbor Freight.

"That was a Herman Munster size lunch!"

LOL! You get bored sitting on the wall for 8 hours, and if you're working a double, it's 16 hours.
