Fox News’ Latest Ratings Show Just How Effective is the Campaign to Kick O’Reilly Off the Air
IJ Review ^ | 6-10-15 | Kyle Becker

No matter how many times it’s attacked by its detractors, Fox News proves time and time again the Nietzchean dictum, “What does not kill me, makes me stronger.”

Unfortunately for its competition, that means yet another month for the “O’Reilly Factor” on top of its prime-time cable news slot, and as Newser points out – that makes 174 consecutive months and running.

O’Reilly has been so “wounded” by a widespread, concerted campaign to portray him as Brian Williams’ doppelganger and to get him kicked off the air that he is up 41 percent from the same month of May last year in the Age 25-54 demo.

“The O’Reilly Factor” is yet again the #1 cable news program with its 2.4 million viewers. And its re-run just three hours later? Number nine overall.

Of the top 15 cable news programs, Fox News owns all but four of them: “CNN Tonight” (4), “Anderson Cooper 360″ (6), “Erin Burnett Outfront” (12), and the “Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer” (15) are the exceptions.

Meghan Kelly is also doing very well. FNC is #2 when ranked against ALL cable TV shows, not just other new outlets. Only USA Network has higher cable ratings.

I think it’s because he’s finally coming out and hitting hard on Obama’s ineptness.

I find the Leprechaun to be annoying and full of himself. But he can also be highly entertaining, in a sort of like a Rodeo Clown kind of way.

I can imagine what is said behind the scenes between people like him and Krauthammer. We are seeing things in our life time that I thought I’d never see.

Once we left Iraq, there were no good choices. Look at post war Japan and Germany. It took years to bring stability in there. I would thing the people in Iraq for once had hope for the good life, now there is nothing but pain and darkness until someone comes out on top.

It pains me to think that we now are putting more troops in there to fight the enemies of our enemies. What is this guy going to do when the political war becomes even more heated, ie when Baghdad is attacked?

Once we pulled out, we pulled out. Bad decision, but I can’t see us going back in until the enemy is identified. The enemy is Islam, pure and simple. Until that’s understood, the ME there is madness.

“I think it’s because he’s finally coming out and hitting hard on Obama’s ineptness.”

I’m glad to see his new-found desire to go after Obola. Unfortunately, my guess is that he’s finally decided that he’s not getting another interview with The Halfbreed In Chief, so his “objectivity” has returned. Still when you look at the trash that poses as anchors on the other networks, the phrase “In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king” comes to mind.

I have no desire to see anyone taken off the air. I know how to change the channel.

The situation in the ME will never be resolved! Short of a nuclear holocaust, the Islamists will be doing the same $hit 100 years from now. Just too bad Israel is in there.

Spot-on.

O'Reilly's pretty unwatchable for me. Is he still hawking Factor coffee mugs and mousepads and such?

It's funny how he refers to himself in the third person by his superhero name.

"The Factor believes that Republicans should work with Obama on balancing the budget..."

Only USA Network has higher cable ratings.

And that's because everyone is watching NCIS reruns :)

Greta is the ‘dwarf lawyer’? Is she short?

Personally I think she has done a better job than O’Reilly. She points out things about Obama that are wrong all the time. The other night while speaking to an honest black minister who called Al Sharpton a pimp she said she can’t understand why Obama supports him and not the honest black community trying to do something about the situations they face.

They aren’t going to get rid O’Reilly, their top moneymaker.

Exactamundo. Japan and Germany were and are homogenous nations that always had a robust civil society; this was true even under Imperial and Nazi rule respectively. Iraq had and has neither homogeneity nor a civil society worth writing home about. And both Germany and Japan were facing at war’s end a menacing Soviet Union. This threat encouraged both nations to graciously accept American occupation—since the alternative was enslavement.
