Are Boston terrorism cases a trend?

The Tsarnaev brothers exploded bombs at the Boston Marathon. Tarek Mehanna translated documents for Al Qaeda from his Sudbury home. Ashland’s Rezwan Ferdaus planned to crash model airplanes laden with explosives into the Pentagon and US Capitol.

All were homegrown terrorist plots in and around Boston in recent years. And then, last week, a Roslindale man who was being tracked by an antiterrorism task force and who allegedly had vowed to kill police officers was shot to death by investigators as he allegedly brandished a knife.

These episodes raise a question: Is Boston more vulnerable to violent extremism than other parts of the country? Antiterrorism specialists interviewed by the Globe said there is no easy answer.

Some said the region is no more likely to be home to extremists than anywhere else in the United States, while others suggested that Boston’s emergence as an international hub may leave it exposed to strains of radicalized behavior.

“Clearly, there have been a number of incidents here, and some of that is because Boston is really an international city,” said former Boston Police Department commissioner Ed Davis, who is an international security consultant and a consultant to the Globe.

Here is a bold prediction: There will be another large terror attack in the US.

And, yes, there is a fairly simple solution to this problem that starts with infiltrating the cells.

This is clearly a job for government, the federal government in particular which allowed and encouraged these people to come and live in the US. The federal government is not doing its job. Do you wonder why that is?

That's a tough question to liberals. Is a disarmed city full of metrosexuals who won't even fight to defend themselves or their children more vulnerable? Is a region that has rejected God and traditional values, while embracing every perversion imagined, a more tempting target than other parts of the country?

I don't know. Let's ask the 9-11 bombers who chose flights starting in Boston's Logan Airport. Let's ask the Tsarnaev brothers, who chose Boston as their target. Let's ask Obama who carried Boston in 2012 with 80% of the vote. Sensible people would notice a pattern that America's enemies choose Boston, and Boston chooses America's enemies. Liberals are perplexed.

Irons cite only me as a critic of the Islamic Society of Boston, whose Cambridge mosque was attended by at least one of the suspected Boston Marathon bombers (“Praying for peace — and understanding,” Page A1, April 27). In fact there have been others who have recognized the radical nature of the mosque leadership. The situation today is far different from the time Mayor Menino agreed to subsidize the building of the Islamic Society of Boston’s Saudi-funded mosque, and when many in the Jewish community embraced the mosque’s leaders...

...A few months ago, Northeastern University dismissed Imam Abdullah Faaruuq, a frequent spokesperson for the Islamic Society of Boston, from his role as Muslim student chaplain after we released a video of Faaruuq urging Muslim students at Northeastern to support terror suspect Tarek Mehanna, and telling a gathering at a mosque that “it’s time to pick up the gun and the sword and go out and do your job.”

It's the nutty Boston agenda centering around the universities. They seem to relish the very weird problems brought in along with the globalist agenda they promote. Nobody ever said after 911 or the Tsarnov maniacs "send home people who don't belong and/or don't need to be in the US". While all that goes on, the elite live in places very sheltered from the chaos their agenda initiates.

I agree that we need to deport these people as soon as they show the slightest hint of “radicalization,” and in fact we need to stop letting them in here in the first place.

However, the disturbing thing - which no one has mentioned - is that Boston also seems to have a lot of crazy native-born (mostly black) converts, such as the ones who were killed or arrested last week for planning to behead a policeman.

Boston bombing survivors are outraged that Tsarnaev family's trip to the US for the trial was paid for with their tax dollars. That's b/c the US govt mandates that struggling taxpayers foot the bill for these people to go back and forth between America and their "supposedly" hostile homelands on the taxpayers' dime.

The Boston Herald published the state's response: 'My office is working to fully comply with your request,' DTA interim commissioner Stacey Monahan wrote, saying they were only providing a summary 'given the great interest in this matter.'

Chechen immigrants--the bombers' parents----were eligible as legal, non-citizen residents who claimed "asylum" status and met the eligibility criteria for DTA, DTA interim commissioner Stacey Monahan said in a letter to David Linsky, Chairman of the Mass House Post Audit and Oversight Committee.

Multiple state agencies, on orders from Democrat Gov Patrick, refused to comment on the bomber brothers' welfare haul.

(1) that foreign nationals must at least avoid crime,

(2) stay off public assistance,
