In Steve Reinboldt’s 1970 high school yearbook, wrestling coach Dennis Hastert wrote that Steve was his “great, right hand man” as the student equipment manager of the Yorkville, Illinois wrestling team.
But Steve was also a victim of sexual abuse at the hands of Hastert, Steve’s sister said today in an interview with ABC News. It is the first time an alleged Hastert victim has been identified by name since his indictment for lying to the FBI and violating federal banking laws to cover-up past misconduct. Hastert, due in court next week, has not responded to the allegations.
In an emotional interview, Steve Reinboldt’s sister Jolene said she first learned of her late brother’s purported years-long sexual abuse at the hands of the future Speaker of the House back in 1979 when her brother revealed to her that he was gay and had been out of high school for eight years.
“I asked him, when was your first same sex experience. He looked at me and said, ‘It was with Dennis Hastert,’” Jolene said. “I was stunned."

Any homosexual in government would be a ripe candidate for blackmail. And the blackmailer should also be punished. If retribution for cases such as this need redressing, it should be done through the courts.
Jolene said she believes the abuse ended when Steve moved away after his high school graduation in 1971. Reinboldt died of AIDS in 1995.
Someone else was blackmailing Hastert. The sister claims she doesn't know who it is.
Guy died from AIDS in ‘95, and this entire article is based on his sisters hearsay.

That would explain the politician's general lack of objection to (and probably the courts' embracing of) the pro-homo lobby. Once being homo is "normal," the stigma that facilitates blackmail is removed.

There is no longer any such thing as “hearsay” evidence in the State of Illinois. Dead men CAN tell tales according to the Illinois courts.
Ask Drew Peterson who is serving a life sentence for the ^unconfirmed^ “murder” of his 3rd and 4th wife. Even without “corpus delecti”, he was convicted by a jury of his peers on the second hand testimony of his wife’s spiritual counselor (local pastor). Exhumed and autopsied corpus (Wife #3) not withstanding.
Drew inferred that his (#4) wife was in an active dalliance with said pastor but...hey, we got a “disappearance” to resolve and get off the books.

But she doesn’t know who is blackmailing him. Now that the story broke I can’t believe Hassert isn’t going to take the guy down with him, unless the story is even darker than what we suspect now.
If it’s homosexual behavior with a Republican, it’s “abuse”.

She kept this crime secret for 36 years while Hastert rose to power?

Supposedly she went to the news with it, (so she says) but since it was just her word I guess they showed enough common sense not to get sued to high heaven for slander or liable, whichever it is.
Apparently she didn’t keep it quiet. It’s been reported she contacted ABC during the Foley episode and ABC said they could not confirm the story so did not run it.
Who was going to believe this woman vs the Speaker of the House? Although... you would think that the way the Foley situation was handled ... someone would have delved into the allegation a bit more.
The whole think has ick written all over it.
