I’ll buck the trend. I like Rick. Supported him early and often four years ago. Donated to him a few days ago as well (although I’m still also still looking at Cruz and Jindal this time around). For a social conservative, he’s still the gold standard.

>>> I like and admire Rick Santorum. He is a passionate intellectual for conservatism, and I wish I could put him in the WH yesterday. That said, I still believe that Ted Cruz is the best choice.
I agree 100% percent. I wish I could replace him with that loser Bob Casey Jr. I don't think Santorum should be running for president but he is definitely worthy of respect. (Even though it will be hard to live down the endorsement of Arlen Spector)
In all, Santorum had the 5th-highest GPA out of 50 senators, and he beat 85 percent of senators (17 of 20) and 82 percent of Republican senators (14 of 17) who represented states that were at least 10 points to the right of Pennsylvania. A Quick Spending Scorecard
Santorum infamously endorsed liberal Republican Arlen Specter over the more conservative Pat Toomey in the 2004 primary, which angered many who had previously treated Santorum like a rock star -
2016 Scouting Report: Rick Santorum Conservative Review
Santorums lifetime ACU rating as of 2006 was 88.1. That is a pretty good rating, but Santorum was not one of the most conservative senators
HOW CONSERVATIVE IS RICK SANTORUMS RECORD?

If you actually have to say “I’m electable”, then you’re not.
To: alstewartfan
Absolutely: climbing the ladder as opposed to someone, ie government, lowering it down to you. The imagery Santorum thinks with produced the latter, which is why I wouldn’t call him a conservative of intellect.
To: Berlin_Freeper
You aren’t electable. I backed you last time by default but we have real candidates this time, please go away.

I don’t agree with you at all. But that’s fine.

Looks like somebody here has done their research. Rick Santorum is an outstanding conservative, and so it Ted Cruz.

“....Who is this Rick Santorum guy? ....”
May I introduce you?
“Here are his ratings from when he was in Congress:
American Conservative Union 88%
National Right to Life Committee 100%
Americans for Tax Reform 95%
National Tax Limitation Committee 92%
U.S. Chamber of Commerce 88%
League of Private Property Voters 94%
Now remember, this is Santorums House ratings, in a DEMOCRAT district. How many Republicans in Democrat areas vote this conservative?”

Just a start, but please do more research on your own.
During your research, you might even learn that Rick is the only presidential candidate from Numbers USA with an A rating.
