We Republicans Lost On Gay Rights. That’s A Good Thing.
Politico ^ | June 1, 2015 | Mark McKinnon

I'm not among those Republicans who have “evolved” on the issue of gay rights. I didn’t need to. I’ve always been attracted to the GOP message of more freedom and less government, but thought it hypocritical and counter to the core of our philosophy that Republicans would not apply those tenets to gay rights. But of course I was often the black sheep in campaign meetings during the 1990s and 2000s. There goes McKinnon again. Taking up for the gays. Although “gay” wasn’t the word that was used back the

Of course, this guy worked for the Bush II and McCain. So in Mr. McKinnon's world "more freedom" does not include the right to follow one's conscience. "Bake me a cake" is force not freedom.

The entire nation lost.

I’m pretty sure more freedom and less government hasn’t been part of the GOP message since...Ike?

Gay is not a word I use either for them today, they are homosexuals and will be called what they are instead of trying to paint them as a happy go lucky people.

Never. When I was at the University of Texas about a thousand years ago, McKinnon was the editor of The Daily Texan, which is what passes for a campus newspaper there. A more snivelingly liberal rag one would be hard pressed to find.

As a political media consultant, most of his clients have been Democrats. I guess he's a "Republican" because he was the media advisor for the G. W. Bush campaigns. In reality, he's a Democrat who has managed to wrangle some paychecks from Republican campaigns.

yes, that will be the result, but the actual agenda is criminalizing Christian beliefs.
The Fascism is just a side effect.

I want everyone to have the freedom to bugger each other.

I want everyone to have the freedom to have sex with dogs, cats and chickens.

I want everyone to have the freedom to cheat on their spouses.

I want everyone to have the freedom to not live in a world constrained by the concept of ‘spouse’.

I want everyone to have the freedom to bugger corpses.

I want everyone to have the freedom to bugger road kill.

I want everyone to have the freedom to experience ‘intergenerational intimacy’. Kids should experience the joys of sex as early as possible - it’s good for them. If they can toddle they can woggle.

I want everyone to have the freedom to marry inter-species.

I want everyone to have the freedom to have sex with anyone they want. No one should be able to deny anyone else their bodies. It takes a village. So when you get asked - put out.

I want everyone to have the freedom to do and live just they way I want them to.

I want someone else to pay for all of the medical, social and spiritual costs of my freedom.

How soon before the first seal is broken?

I’ve always been attracted to the GOP message of more freedom and less government,

Liar.

Gay "marriage" is the typical big-government social-engineering project. How many states voted NO on gay marriage even when the Feds started to promote gays in military, special civil rights rules, etc...? Now the Supreme Court will be used at the most extreme hammer to force gay marriage on all.

Above all, the traditional concept of marriage belonged to society, outside of government and existing well before the US Government even existed. Now the US Government has grabbed the power,to define even marriage, from civil society itself. Its practically Stalinist.

Hypothetically speaking, regardless of PC, pro-gay interpretations of the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protections Clause, even if Rupublicans fully supported so-called gay “rights,” it remains that the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect gay “rights.” So the states are free to make 10th Amendment-protected laws which discriminate against constitutionally unprotected gay issues regardless what Republicans and pro-gay activist judges and justices might tell us about gay “rights.”

Really?
How do wedding photographers, bakers, churches, and anyone with an opinion contrary to that of the homosexual Gestapo have “more freedom?”
