An investment banker jumped to his death from the window of his million-dollar apartment in the Financial District on Thursday, sources and authorities said.

The 29-year-old man plunged from the 24th floor of the luxury Ocean apartment building at 1 West St. at about 10:40 a.m. and landed on a guardrail near the northbound Battery Park Underpass, narrowly missing a black SUV.

Sources said the young banker had made several attempts to kill himself earlier in the morning, including cutting his wrists, before making the plunge.

The man — whom police did not immediately identify — was from a wealthy family in Westchester County, sources said.

He had apparently become very successful on his own. He owned his apartment in the 36-story Ocean complex, which overlooks The Battery and New York Harbor, and had just returned from a vacation in the Bahamas, sources said.

Dammit. Missed an opportunity to finally do something productive with his life.

Really? Which model? Was it a two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive? Did it have the Eddie Bauer package? Moonroof?

Another one? Is anyone keeping track of the mysterious banker deaths?

According to my grandparents this was a near-daily occurrence during the Depression.

Not a good omen.

There is something very strange going on here. It’s like there is a sublimital message embedded within something that bankers are repeatedly seeing or the media is just making a point of reporting each instance of this happening. I think most of them are jumping deaths.

According to lefties all these guys are rich and Wall Street types so they deserved to die. Of course if you’re a hip hop artist, professional athlete, or actor and rich you’re okay but only as long as you voted for Obama.

I knew the young man who committed suicide personally over several years. His demons and trouble had little, if anything at all, to do with his work and everything to do with longstanding personal issues that aren’t public business.

I'm sorry for your loss. And I am unsurprised that the reason he committed suicide had little or nothing to do with his line of work.

I guess that that was the way to do it; can’t change your mind in mid-jump.

Wow, he could've saved his only little bit of the carbon footprint if he aimed better.
