Sharpton spoke about two high-profile shootings involving Cleveland police, the 2012 car chase during which police fired 137 shots and eventually killed two unarmed people and the November shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice by a Cleveland police officer.

The tenor of the speech echoed an editorial Sharpton wrote for the Huffington Post Tuesday, referring to the 2016 GOP convention as a forum for raising issues of police reform.

So all of these police shootings happened in Democrat run cities, and he wants to protest the Republicans over it.
