UN likens Britain to Nazi Germany over threat to quit European convention on human rights

A top UN official has provoked outrage after likening David Cameron’s threat to scrap human rights laws to Nazi Germany.

The Prime Minister has warned the Government could withdraw the UK from the convention in order to deport foreign criminals.

It is the most radical option as part of plans to scrap the Human Rights Act, which enshrines the convention in UK law, with a “British Bill of Rights” enforced by the UK’s Supreme Court rather than by judges in Strasbourg.

But Professor François Crépeau, the UN special rapporteur on the human rights of migrants, said: “We have to remember the 1930s and how the rights of the Jews were restricted in Germany and then the rights of the whole German people.”

Prof. Crépeau said weakening human rights laws was a dangerous slippery slope. He said: “I mean, countries that go down the path of reducing the rights of one category of people usually don’t stop there.” …

That is as low as a leftist can go. Part of the Israel-hating council in the UN, and then doing this in defense of Soviet-inspired “human rights” in defense of criminals.

Well, there is a semi-fascist in the conversation, but it isn't Cameron. It's the UN guy, the representative of an unelected centralized body that strives to tell everyone everywhere what to do.

But then again, the UN guy is a “special rapporteur”. Wow. Who am I to criticize a special rapporteur?

It’s worse, because Crépeau is actually Canadian and a British subject and is trashing Britain in this manner.

The UN was commie from day one, with its charter being a copy of Stalin’s USSR constitution. It should never have come to be.

Well, he’s still French-Canadian. They never bought into being British subjects anyway!

Guess it’s just his way of getting back.

Thanks Olog-hai. Looks like the hacks and demagogues at The Mail just can't miss an opportunity to badmouth the Tories, the UK, pretty much anything that doesn't undermine civilization.

Dear Professer Crappy, all we want to do is be able to deport foreign crims back to where they came from. It will not affect the rights of legitimate migrants at all.

“Well, he’s still French-Canadian.”

French-Canadian=Worthless A$$hole! Thanks to pricks like Crappo, we in America have to suffer with cars that have “cluttered” English/ Metric dashboards and warning placards because the Cannucks have demanded it be so. North America would today be much the better if we had repatriated both the French and the Blacks to their places of “origin” back when we still could.

Just saying.

The UN is the most hateful POS on the planet. I would never use the UN if I was President Cruz. It should be kicked out and use the building as something useful, like a landfill. 😊

The UN was an abomination to begin with, with its charter resembling the USSR’s constitution by design, and thus formulated to give the USSR outsized power in the world.
