Excellent article.
If we tried your experiment and released all repentant prisoners, it wouldn’t take long to find out who the liars were.
I bet they will be reading a script. MD reads her lines at speaking engagements. I’m sure somebody is prepping them with tough questions.
What an irresponsible thing to say.
Christians are people who follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. When they go to prison for following Jesus then they are the persecuted.
When they are in prison for doing something that the teachings of Jesus Christ is against, then they are not Christians.
You can call them Christian and they can call themselves Christian
But they are not Christian.
Until they repent in prison.
But that is not what you meant.
Unless.....they choose the questions and prepare ahead of time their answers.
What I said was a fact.
No. It is not a fact.
It is a lie
I guess you have never been involved with prison ministries. Give it a shot.
But if people repent in.prison,,and find religion in prison, they still have to serve out their sentences. They don’t get released because they accept Christ behind prison walls.
If what she says is true, then those people are really messed up.
I also bet they would be shocked to find out how often father/daughter molestation takes place. I can forgive a teenager, but I couldn't forgive a father.
Obviously Christians who are unforgiving from what we know the the Josh Duggar episode do not understand grace. The guy that wrote about grace the most in the New Testament was the Apostle Paul who participated in the stoning of Steven.
Also The Word says if you even thought about the things that Josh Duggar did, you are guilty. So you best keep your rocks, I am sure Paul wished he had. ( i know he did not actully throw any but he was there assenting to the stoning)
That being said. I understand Josh has had counseling. His family is aware. Several of his victims were his own sisters.
My guess at teenagers many of us committed sins that were criminal in nature. I know I did and I spent 42 years as a Pastor because I asked for forgiveness and received it.
Now don’t get me wrong. I am not minimizing what Josh did. It was awful. It was illegal and a criminal act. But now everybody knows and like the penitent thief next to Jesus Josh will spend his eternity in heaven.
Let’s hope we can sin no more and do likewise.

The Duggars need to Shut-Up and Lawyer Up.
If Duggar had been convicted back in 2003, he either would have either only received counseling or been out of juvenile detention by the time he was 18. Yes, we treat children differently than adults. And, there is comparison between a child that did what he did and an adult. Children usually don't repeat their crimes.
Secondly, it reprehensible to bring up someone's past sins and bash them if he or she has repented and gotten right with God. That is wicked and reflects negatively on one's character.
King David committed adultery and murder. Do you want to discuss what a lousy human being he was? Paul persecuted and killed believers, you do you want to do the same to him?
There is no sentence to serve for Duggar. Even if he had been convicted and sent to juvenile detention, he'd be out by the time he was 18, nine years ago.
This is a guy that was deemed morally sound enough to be hired by the Family Research Council. He and his family were fighting against abortion, gay marriage and transgendered laws in Arkansas.
His father-in-law has vouched for his character.
Piling on a man that has repented is wicked.
Lawyer up about what? The issue was resolved legally in 2006.
Amen.
What do I look like? An idiot?
