Ted Cruz Dominates The Pulse 2016 May Straw Poll
The Pulse ^ | May 21, 2015 | Jon Schweppe

Posted on 05/25/2015 1:46:21 PM PDT by SoConPubbie

Ted Cruz seems to be very good at winning online straw polls.

Earlier this month, Cruz won the Hot Air Primary Survey for the second month in a row.

Last week, we conducted The Pulse 2016’s first straw poll, and Cruz absolutely dominated the competition.

Poll Graphic

Cruz received 146 out of the 367 votes cast (just under 40 percent), and no other candidate came close. Scott Walker and Ben Carson tied for a distant second place, each receiving 36 votes (just under 10 percent).

Obviously neither poll is scientific — and it would be ridiculous to draw anything significant from either of these online polls — but it does speak to the strength of Cruz’s grassroots online presence. Since formally announcing his candidacy for president, Cruz’s fundraising efforts have been blowing up in a big way. Much of his fundraising has come from small dollar donors — many of whom voted in these online polls. These are regular people who have been inspired by Senator Cruz’s message and motivated to donate to Cruz’s efforts and publicly campaign on his behalf.

Will this impressive online support translate to victory for Cruz at the Iowa caucuses or the New Hampshire primary? We’ll see. There’s a long way to go. But it should be noted that Cruz has been very impressive since his announcement in March. Don’t write him off.

Of course, Ron Paul was really good at winning on line straw polls too.

Wow. 367 total votes. Real convincing.

If you’re trying to disparage Cruz’s support as if it’s the same as Ron Paul’s, good luck with that.

Paul’s crew was gaming every poll they could, and disrupting debates as well with their boisterous clapping when everyone had been asked not to.

Cheap shot.

I think a good barometer of the state of the race will be in the fall after we’ve had a number of debates. The field will have solidified by then and a straw poll taken in November or December will catch my attention more than ones taken in May or June.

Is it your opinion that supporters for other candidates couldn’t have participated?

LOL

The first polls that will be indicative will take place early next year, when it counts.

Until then we’ll just diversify support across a wide body of also rans so someone like Jeb Bush can walk across the finish line just like Dole, Bush, McCain, and Romney did.

FOX “News” says the poll means nothing and
Sen. Cruz will not be at their RINO-controlled
Romney-controlled “debate”.

367 total votes is meaningless and a waste of effort to think otherwise.

An online poll of less than 400 votes does mean nothing. At least an in-person straw vote requires meeting people face to face. Come to think of it, Ted Cruz isn’t bad at those either.

And yet here you are wasting time discussing something you say you think is meaningless a waste of effort...

“...and it would be ridiculous to draw anything significant from either of these online polls...”

I’m getting too optimistic about Cruz’ chances reading all these threads.

I know the MSM will smear hum because they are scared of him because he is smarter and craftier than they are.

The liberals will try to make hum into a villain because true conservatives like him expose their Alinsky/Cloward-Piven agenda.

And the GOPe will do their best to disqualify him because a true conservative also exposes them for their status quo agenda.

They can have all the polls they want, what really matter is the one on election day 2016, that is if bambaboy and his slim ball administration doesn’t ruin it for us....

My point was that straw polls are nothing to get excited about.
