14 year olds are regularly charged as adults in society. Someone at that age is in control of their faculties especially when knowing right from wrong regarding molesting siblings and other young children.
Irrelevant. A guy that is sexually turned on by little girls and acts on it is a pedophile. There's something WRONG with him. This is not a childhood thing. It's a deviant thing.

Huckabee shamed himself by not even alluding to punishment——that’s what sickens me. God can forgive Duggar and any other criminal if they’re truly sorry but the notion that they should not be punished in society is incredibly ridiculous.
While pre-adulthood problems of this kind may not indicate future actions as an adult, I think it can also be said that almost 100% of adult offenders along these lines did have a history of actions that include molestation of them and subsequent abnormal behaviors perpetrated by them.
I don’t think bringing up the issues of a pre-adult are reasoned unless they were very serious, if there is no adult activity that demonstrates they have the same sorts of problems.
Even so, I would not be comfortable defending someone against this, because you never know. While I don’t want to have someone treated unfairly, I also don’t want to contribute toward exonerating someone that could be doing things you have no way of knowing about.
This might lead to someone being exposed to very bad activity based on your well meaning exoneration.
Sometimes it’s just best to leave well enough alone.

Whether or not Todd Akin was the most conservative primary candidate is a matter of conjecture. What is NOT a matter of conjecture is that GOPe Grand Poobah Karl Rove trashed Todd Akin on national television and sandbagged his campaign. Todd Akin was leading in the polls until Rove opened his fat mouth.
Numerous conservative candidates (Sarah, Christine O’Donnnell, Sharon Angle, Chris McDaniel, Richard Mourdock to name just a few) get trashed high and low and left and right BY FELLOW REPUBLICANS! Meanwhile Rove and the GOPe select plenty of moderate “electable” candidates who go on to lose “graciously”. These are the same voices who are leading the smears against Ted.
Mike Huckabee stood up for Todd Akin and conservative principles, and he should be proud.
Conservative candidates that know how to properly campaign and ask for votes should be a minor threshold in obtaining. Todd Akin failed that test. I’m with Palin on this.
I am agnostic. I am just not an idiot taliban towel head who kills or imprisons anything that isnt perfect in their eyes. Age is absolutely relevant especially with young males who have hormones that women simply can not contemplate. Should he have been punished? Yes, but not to the extent that psychos like you would want.
So it’s OK if 14yr old boys can’t control their hormones and digitally molest their 4yr old sisters as a result? They didn’t really MEAN to do that, they were just curious about how 4yr old girls genitals looked. That’s all. No harm no foul...
How would you punish him for that?
Do you think he will ‘recover’ from that? Crime stats say the likelihood of him NOT re-offending is infinitesimally tiny.
A 14 year old can’t control his hormones?! Seriously? That is not personal responsibility I firmly believe in. Those that commit heinous crimes at age 14 have been rightfully charged as adults many times. That same standard needs to apply to these despicable molestations against young girls in his own family! That’s not simple misconduct. There is something seriously wrong here. No family that proclaims to be perfect christians should escape justice.
The issue is not Todd Akin’s campaigning.
The issue is the is the GOPe’s neverending practice of smearing conservatives and those who stand up for conservatives.
