Republicans brace for glorious victory over Obamacare
Washington Post ^ | May 15, 2015 | By Greg Sargent

Nancy Pelosi is now predicting that Republicans will “rue the day” that the Supreme Court guts Obamacare subsidies for millions in three dozen states. “They’re going to then go out and say we’re going to take subsidies away from people who have health care? No, I don’t think so,” says Pelosi. “It would be really bad news for them.”

Meanwhile, if anything, Republicans may be moving away from their previously-stated vow to participate in providing a contingency fix to temporarily keep those millions covered. The Hill reports that GOP Rep. Tom Price, the chairman of the House budget committee and a leading conservative, has now come out against any plan to temporarily keep those subsidies going.

Price’s approach to the issue neatly foreshadows the chaos that could erupt if the Court does what Republicans say they want and sides with the challengers in King v. Burwell.

In coming out against a temporary subsidies fix, Price appears to be somewhat at odds with other Republicans, such as Rep. Paul Ryan and Senators like Ron Johnson, Orrin Hatch, and John Barrasso, who want to offer some kind of transitional plan for those who would lose subsidies, putting off the fallout until after the election and buying time for Republicans to produce a comprehensive Obamacare alternative.

Instead, Price wants to proceed straight to repealing Obamacare and replacing it with his new proposal. The simplified version of Price’s reforms is that it would do away with the individual mandate and the Medicaid expansion and the required minimum standards for health plans and the protections for people with preexisting conditions. It would subsidize people’s insurance, but it would replace the current subsidy system, which is based on income, with one based on age...

Repeal it and don’t replace it.

That’s just it Nancy. You know what a crap sandwich it was, but you are counting on folks whining when this decaying rug is pulled out from under them.

From what I hear 2016 is going to be a devilish year for Obamacare. We’ll see who’s bitching about what then.

Some of the full weight of Obamacare will come down that year. Good luck having that albatross around your neck going into the general election.

It never fails to amaze me how many Democrats want to go out of their way to give Republicans tips on how to succeed and win elections.

The Supreme Court guts it or the Government exchanges fall apart on their own [dis]merit. I don’t see much difference. With the government exchange side falling apart, Obama would be well on his way to calling for a national emergency and a shift to single payer (which he’s been after all along).

The monkey wrench with the USSC might be that tinge of illegality with respect to our Constitution, however. And, that would be something he hadn’t prepared for. Calling for national emergency of an act riddled with unconstitutional provisions doesn’t warrant martial law or fiat action. It warrants outright repeal.

My money is on another extension/delay to prevent that from happening. Or they already have the spin set up to blame the Republicans...

Two good options for them to hide the truth of it..., I agree.

Of course Mitch and John will be fine with that...

That’s exactly what needs to be done. Get govmnt. the hell out of healthcare, create mass competition, get the John Edwards ambulance chasers the hell off the backs of doctors, and healthcare costs will nose dive like faster than Pelosi and her sanity. Free markets are why today we pay $1500 a year for car insurance and not $15,000, why we constantly see car insurance ads all over the place, some even begging the customer to “name their price” and why cellphones are so cheap even bums own them. Free market works! Absolutely utterly ridiculous that a few days stay in a hospital can bankrupt a person.

More intimidation of SCOTUS by the Dems and their MSM puppets.

If Obamacare lives, the Constitution dies.

In the years since hussein forced CommieCare on the Republic, America's healthcare system has gone from #1 to that of a third-world country. Doctors and nurses have left the profession by the thousands. Once sparkling clean hospitals are now shuttered. Americans, once the healthiest people on the planet, are now dying at earlier ages and suffering from illnesses like never before in the Republic's history.

Ronald Reagan said it best when he spoke out against the communist-inspired socialized program of Medicare. As it turns out Medicare was the camel's nose in the tent, paving the way toward hussein's illegal CommieCare. Repeal Medicare! Repeal CommieCare! And replace neither. Let freedom ring!

Obamacare is the Democrats' Two-Edged Sword.

Its Republican-enabled implementation stunned and stopped economic recovery (such as it ie).

If the Republicans do not have an anti-chaos alternative, its reversal will stun and stop the economy again because Obamacare is now deeply embedded in the health insurance industry and protocols. In a way, it would be like taking Outlook out of Windows!

The Republicans are left holding the ball ... and the blame, just in time for 2016. There is no Plan. There is no Program. There is no Leader. We need all three, fast.

Chaos could erupt if there is no central planning and people are free to choose their own doctor...and doctors are free to choose whether to spend 50% of their time in CMS paperwork...yes the computer systems are designed like paperwork on the screen.... or whether the doctors can choose to use the 50% to see more patients.

Imagine the chaos if people discover freedom.
