Bill O’Reilly refuses to reveal results AFDI cartoon poll
Fire Andrea Mitchell ^ | 05-14-2015

Fascist Bill O’Reilly started a poll last week on The O’Reilly via his websites asking viewers/readers if they agreeded with Pamela Geller and the ADFI draw Mohammed cartoon poll. O’Reilly has done nothing but slam Geller for her daring attempt to use free speech at a private ADFI event.

Yep, the blowhard BlowReilly continually slammed Geller so he put his stupid poll up thinking the responders would do likewise. Epic failure Billy-boy!

God Bless Pamela Geller!

The buffoon is too full of himself too ever backtrack.

Like many, I used to watch his show, but quit after his defense of Dan Rather, and then cemented by the Swift Boat Vet attacks.

He is a POS. The attempt to smear FR as a hate site, thoroughly debunked without an apology just made me a zealot in convincing others not to watch his pompous garbage.

O’Reilly thinks he knows it all, but on some subjects, he’s a total ignoramus, and boring.

Also,he’s extremely rude to all his guests including the women attorneys.

He always cuts off the last part of an informative sentence though a couple of guests, such as Krauthammer, politely tell him to shut up and let him finish.

I think Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld (who is getting his own show on Sunday nights on Fox), are nicer, more intelligent, and entertaining than the “Great Bloviator”.

Unfortunately, some of his bad behavior has rubbed off on Megan Kelley (who should know better, esp. interrupting her guests way too often).

Dana Perrino. Nice, polite, and too often out of her league on certain subjects. O’Reilly needs a Pam Geller, Tammy Bruce and more Laura Ingraham (who doesn’t take any of his crap either), to do analysis and commentary.

Conservative women, for the large part, are smarter and sharper than many conservative men. Call me a “sexist” but I think Kimberly Guilfoyle is a top-notched attorney and one of the best looking/dressed women on Fox. She also has a great sense of humor, which the Left has none of.

O'Reilly gets many things right.

That said, he is not an expert on things economic (to wit, he actually supports raising the minimum wage, saying that it would help the poor.)

He is also completely wrong on Pamela Geller (and Meghan is completely correct).

Mister O'Reilly is more than reluctant to admit an error.

Words of the day for Mister O'Reilly (for the next 3 days...)

Dignity, grace and self-respect.

The poll obviously went against BOR’s opinion. He will not accept public flogging by pole e’s. I voted against BOR.

Is he still on?

Haven’t watch him in over 10 years. At first, he was edgy - now he’s just old and repetitive.

He’s a fraud that could not stand up to a random Freeper in a debate on issues picked, likewise, at random.

The smartest woman on Fox News IMO is Katy Pavlich.

The non-too-bright Bill O’Reilly must have has his fragile ego deflated a bit by the poll results. And, like a liberal, he will suppress opinions with which he disagrees.

I quit watching BOR a decade ago for similar reasons.

Twice, in a short period of time, he had polls up on his website. When the results were not supporting his position, he took them down, refused to reveal the final results, and claimed that the website had technical problems.

“Dan Rather, on the other hand, was a product of the Vietnam era and the Watergate fiasco. He believes to this day that the establishment, especially conservatives, are flawed people. Mr. Rather skewed his reporting left, taking the entire CBS News operation in that direction. Although I was there only briefly, I saw it happen.”

Just as it did not serve our cause to claim against overwhelming evidence that Barack Obama could not intelligently speak extemporaneously, so it would lead us astray if we do not fully understand what motivates Bill O'Reilly.

O'Reilly is a standard issue New York area middle-class Irishman with huge ambition and matching energy. Despite his Harvard pedigree, he is not well educated in the sense that his degrees have produced a Renaissance man rather they have produced, in shaping his middle-class Irish origins, a street smart egotist who operates on the edge of cynicism. Street smart, O'Reilly, like Rush Limbaugh, knows that he must first get and hold an audience or journalistic pretensions are at best academic and at worst handicaps. So O'Reilly structures the show and everything he does on that show to produce the illusion of immediacy, urgency and importance. At the "back of the book" he will insert sex, tabloid journalism, humor, pathos or whatever it takes to hold the audience and he is not unmindful of the need to hold the female audience.

Like Limbaugh, O'Reilly seeks to establish his own brand so that means he cannot permit anyone, even Doctor Krauthammer to appear to be smarter and often he cannot permit anyone to appear to be more knowledgeable. He pretends to offer "the last word" but of course steals the conclusion at the end when there can be no rebuttal.

But the great failure of Bill O'Reilly from a conservative perspective is that O'Reilly has no ideology other than O'Reilly. He professes not to be a Republican or a conservative and I believe him because his ego requires that all gospel must be according to O'Reilly. Because the combination of his upbringing and education have not produced a Renaissance man, it has produced an eclectic who is liable to come down on any side of any issue. Too often his positions are dictated by his assessment of ratings just as his decision apparently withhold the results of this poll are dictated by his need to protect his brand.

In other words O'Reilly does not proceed from a coherent political philosophy but from an ad hoc need to advance O'Reilly and that leads to the confusion we see about this poll.
