Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker leads the field of Republican presidential hopefuls, but a pack of GOP contenders are gaining on the frontrunner in the latest survey from the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.
The poll released Wednesday found Walker in the lead for the GOP 2016 nomination with 18 percent support, followed by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) at 13 percent, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Dr. Ben Carson at 12 percent each, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 11 percent, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) at 10 percent and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) at 9 percent.

Looks like all those listed below Walker are within the margin of error.
I don’t understand the Huckabee supporters!
“I’m going to vote for whoever the media tells me is the front-runner and who the GOP says can win. I’m not voting for Cruz even though you said he’s the only one you’ll support. You’d better fall in line after the primary and vote for my guy,” said the average Republican.
He’s a pastor. That’s it in many cases.
And, who knows? The horse might learn to sing after all.

Who was leading in the polls in May of 2007 or 2011?
/johnny
May 2007, Rudy. Eventual winner McCain was 2nd. Rudy later blundered his way out of contention by skipping the states before Florida, he led national polls as late as December.
May 2011, Romney.
So it’s not really as funny as you think, Johnny.
I was here when Cruz ran for Senate.
And I remember the GOP-E favorite.. Dewhurst. He' not employed by a government anywhere right now, so yeah.. It is funny in that the GOP-E favorite couldn't get any traction.
Of course, this isn't then, and the 'conventional wisdom' may not work nearly so well as some think it does.

I said that in another post. Got texts telling me the good things he did for his state etc. Perhaps he did. Great.
The man who worked for FOX and rambled about women not being slaves to their libido is not going to be the next president.
Neither is Carson, who has made statements showing less than total support for 2nd amendment and talking about how “men go into prison straight and come out gay”.
Paul’s temper isn’t his worst trait. His extreme isolationist views and his appeasing comments on race issues show his true colors.
If no one drops out then it will be Rubio or Bush, with his 100 million to spend, although the Iraq statement is hurting him.
If Huckabee and Carson really cared about the country, they would throw their support around Cruz earlier than later. So would Paul.
I would not vote for these three for president. Many I know wouldn’t.
However, just as my support for Cruz is quite unwavering, I fear others’ support for these three is also.
Walker has done very good things, but he doesn’t do IT for me. He doesn’t have the presence of a Cruz. However, I would vote for him in a GE, even with his torturous flips on amnesty.
Walker still leading the GOP field, but many are in the margin of error.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Me neither- what are they thinking
Well put
I couldn’t possibly agree with you any more,
on each and every point
Go Cruz
I remember even as a young teenager feeling so secure seeing him on the couch waiting for the 1984 returns.
What kind of courage does it take for a man to say “Tear down this wall!” while people like Sagan are mocking “Star Wars” and dems like Kennedy are saying he's bringing about imminent nuclear war. What a patriot and hero.
Those were good days.
Well said, but Im not as hard on Rubio as many here. The huckster will never be pres and Carson seems to be a nice guy but no way presidential. I totally agree if they cared for their country they would get behind Cruz...or Walker. IMHO.
Paul will never be pres NEVER but will stay in to hurt Cruz and Rubio. Graham is a HUGE problem for Walker/Cruz/Rubio because of the votes he will siphon off in SC.
Right now its just a guessing game and a lot can happen in the next few months.
Look at the GOPe darling Christie LOL
Walker peaked too soon and is now toast walking,
Go Ted Cruz!!!!!
I liked Rubio so much several yeas ago. The gang of eight thing of course hurt him bad.
My fear is, he is willing to do a little too much to be president, like give up a republican Senate seat (for whatever Republicans are worth these days :(, and not sure about his amnesty position.
That being said, I cannot say yet that I wouldn't pull the lever for him on election day, if it came to that. He's messed up, but he is a small step, right now, above those others. He has much to do to win trust again. But crazier things have happened.
Another leftist news organ shilling for the left’s favorite RINO.
