"In America, we really have nothing in our history to compare that against."

Well, we never started two world wars...

Few days ago Novaya Gazeta had an article about present day Russians honoring the fallen WW2 soldiers. In this one raion of Orlov oblast 20,000 Red Army soldiers had died, 18000 of them were never found. The graves that do exist are in a terrible shape. Some renovations have been made over the years but they fall apart as people start stealing metal to resell it. When the journalist talks to the local official about the state of these graves, the official is displeased with these uncomfortable questions, especially before the holiday (9th May).
In all, a very sad article.

The Soviets contributed nothing to the defeat of Imperial Japan. Despite the urging of Roosevelt and Churchill, Stalin refused to move against Japan until after the U.S. nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

I probably read more history books in a week than you read in five years. Our problem, yours and mine, isn’t necessarily about a particular fact. My problem with you is you cheer for and are fond of tyrants. Your values make you a Putinista, without regard for his attacks on other nations, human liberty, the right of his own citizens or of other citizens. Frankly, you’re kind of Leftie in your fondness for authoritarianism. Sad. Pick up a US Constitution. Learn about the rule of law, property rights, Christian values, and on and on but why waste my breath. You won’t be happy till your man Putin has his empire back. You’re worse than a dilettante. You’re a fellow traveler.

“I probably read more history books in a week than you read in five years.”

Given the things you have spewed over the last year, that’s just laughable.

Our problem, yours and mine, isn’t necessarily about a particular fact. My problem with you is you cheer for and are fond of tyrants.”

Do you take off your shirt to crap??
YOUR problem isn’t tyrants, if it were, you wouldn’t be supporting the Obama coup. YOUR problem is that you are a trolling propagandist. And not a very good one, at that.

You “confuse” ANY disagreement with the Kiev Currently-approved Propaganda truth as “Supporting a tyrant”. And I am FAR from the only one you have tried to insult and shout down. The main difference between them and I, is that I had you pegged from the very beginning of this.

Do you think your ridiculous claim that your better read than me matters? How well read or not well read never proves why someone believes in something. It’s that person’s values. You value Russia, and in particular Putin, more than allowing self-government in Ukraine. You’re a lowbrow pro-Russian imperialist without the decency to just say it. You probably favor the whole history of the Romanovs’ and the Soviets, too.

“You value Russia, and in particular Putin, more than allowing self-government in Ukraine.”

More lies from you?
I don’t particularly give a damn about Russia, or Putin. I do care about FACTS and TRUTH.

It is YOU who labels anyone not complying with whatever today’s Kiev-approved propaganda groupthink is “Putin Lover”, “Putinista”, or “a low brow Russian Imperialist”.
Name-calling and insulting are pretty much all you do, to try to derail ANY non-approved discussions.

Hell, you’ve even posted numerous SOROS-PAID propaganda stories on FR!

If not for Putinista scum like you, I wouldn’t even know who Soros is. You are so attached to Putin that you consider anyone who attacks him for his crimes dishonest. You are okay with Putin’s crimes because you’re a fan of his, like the loons in the 1930s who were fawning over Hitler, or the loons in the 50’s who fell for Mao, or the loons in the 60s who were for Castro and Ho. You’re no conservative. You’re a Putin apologist.

“If not for ... scum like you, I wouldn’t even know who Soros is.”

Well, that identifies a LARGE part of your problem, doesn’t it...

Do an FR search for “Soros”. It sounds as if the THOUSANDS of articles posted on Free Republic about George Soros and the Soros Group over the years will be quite the eye-opening experience for you.

If you aren’t an actual propaganda TROLL, that is.

This website could also be a good learning experience for you, about Soros, and Soros Group money, who gets it, and how it gets spent.

http://discoverthenetworks.org/

Ten years ago, this was a GREAT resource, but it’s a bit out-of-date now, as the Soros Group funding networks have grown so large, and so complex, with so many hands, you need a staff of hundreds just to keep up with documenting it.

You seem to enjoy projecting and hate. Let’s see if you like LEARNING nearly as much.

So once you learn about Soros, you become a Putinista? I don’t get it. Why can’t you people be for freedom. If Soros is the problem, Putin cannot be the solution. I’ll oppose them both, as I do Obama and Putin.
