Nothing Snowden released was new. We'd been hearing about this stuff, even here on FR, since 2004, when the AT&T employee turned whistleblower. Everything Snowden confirmed was known by 2006, or at least by 2009.
The MSM manner in which Snowden and others are “vetted” or confirmed they are the real thing — makes no sense. We are to trust the internet or the MSM or people who are making money off the Snowden/Assange memes — that these guys are real whistleblowers? LOL, why would we trust such untrustworthy sources? How are we to know these are even their real names or bios? Because the MSM says so? LOL.
They think we are stupid because we have been stupid about what the Elites in the world are doing.
If the NSA owns the internet as much as they say it does, how are we even to trust we are all getting the “same” internet? Couldn't they tailor what is searched and seen by individual computers by now?
What is truly horrible is no one is thinking these issues through to their logical conclusion (the Republic is completely compromised)
There may be some dark humor at work, the intel boyz of this world love to leave "tells": Snowden = Snowed; Assange calls to mind “when you assume ‘you make an ass out of you and me’”
(Those intel boyz love their word games.)
Another little “tell” was when the Snowden prank statue was put up in Washington Square, Glen Greenwald “just happened” to be having coffee across the street and reported about it as if he was all $urprised.
(Those intel boyz also love their geomancy.)
