San Francisco Sheriff Moves to Fire Deputy Accused of Staging “Gladiator Fights”

Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi is seeking to fire a deputy accused of forcing jail inmates to fight for food.
The San Francisco sheriff's office says he started termination proceedings this week against the deputy sheriff accused of forcing two inmates to hit each other so he and others could bet on the outcomes. Inmates Say Deputies Forced Them to Fight "Gladiator Style"
According to an investigation by the San Francisco Public Defender's office inmates were promised hamburgers if they won,

I had a friend who was in the lock up in Sonoma County. They put him in with a known fighter and watched the fun. My friend came out on top. He wasn’t too happy they did that.

According to the rank on his epaulets, he's a general, not a sheriff. Call him "general," and praise him for his leadership in winning foreign wars and his "officers" (deputies) for giving their lives in ground combat with foreign enemies. Tell him that he's a real man compared to the civilians in our Army.
