Job Killing GOP Governors Have Resumes That Should Disqualify Them From Being President
Political USA ^ | April 24, 2015 | Keith Brekhus

Three sitting Republican Governors interested in seeking a promotion to become U.S. President, represent states that have posted well-below average job growth over the past four years. From 2011 to 2015, the United States experienced 8.21 percent job growth. The states governed by Republican presidential hopefuls Scott Walker (WI), Bobby Jindal (LA), and Chris Christie (NJ), saw much lower rates of job growth over the same time period.

Using figures provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics from January 2011 to January 2015, Paul Rosenburg at Salon, noted that Wisconsin, Louisiana, and New Jersey, all experienced very sluggish job growth during the four-year period.

From January 2011 to January 2015, Bobby Jindal’s Louisiana ranked 32nd out of the 50 states for job growth, with 5.4 percent growth. Scott Walker’s Wisconsin ranked 35th with just 4.85 percent growth. Chris Christie’s New Jersey was even more pathetic, ranking 40th, with a mere 4.15 percent increase in jobs over the four-year interval.

It is a very sad state of affairs where no on among 300 million legitimate citizens has what it takes to effectively govern this albeit nearly ungovernable country.

The candidates declaring themselves for the US presidency simply don't have the qualifications even after years of governing experience in high positions across the land. Jeff Bush? a joke. Others as well.

Add that vacuous empty-suited, good for nothing, lazy,Machiavellian sociopath leading the nation as the standard for presidential qualification and everyone can find within themselves the ability to do a job like that. As low as the standards had become for entrance into the presidential horse race, his doings have made it nothing but a rat race. Oh, I forgot he has an exemplary record as Community organizer, a nearly lost skill, soon to be lost forever.

As the election nears, look for the media to shift into full-on Attack Mode directed at any Republican with a chance of winning.

Scott Walker seems to be at the front of the line at the moment.

{{{From 2011 to 2015, the United States experienced 8.21 percent job growth.}}}

Uhmmmm, Boo chit.

The GDP has been variously estimated at 2% or less, by a considerable difference, to as low as .5%.

No way employment grew by 8.2% during those years. It isn’t mathematically possible.

"Scott Walker, Chris Christie, and Bobby Jindal like to talk about job creation, and they never miss an opportunity to criticize President Obama’s handling of the U.S. economy. However, given that each of these three men governed states that could only dream of matching the U.S. economy’s 8.21 percent job growth rate in the last four years, their criticisms of Obama ring hollow." What bunk.

Since the recession began in December 2007, 1.2 million net jobs have been created in Texas. Only 700,000 net jobs have been created in the other 49 states combined

Texas job growth outpaces rest of U.S. combined

I've heard that many times so apparently it is correct. Therefore, these authors are playing fast and loose with the facts since Texas is, in effect, pulling up the average job creation of most all states, and the US as a whole.

We'd need a table giving the job growth of all 50 states to really get a good indication of where Wisconsin, NJ, Louisiana and others stand. Those might look very good compared to most states other than Texas.

Wonder what this genius thinks of a President who puts millions out of work and on food stamps, and reduces millions from working 40 hours to 29 hours.

[[But of course O is oh so qualified despite the economy.]]

Not only that, but before he was elected president, his state was one of the worst economically

Almost last in economic stability in his home state- it’s funny the msm didn’t bring that up when he ran-

43rd :: Illinois

Debt per capita: $9,617 (42nd)
Unemployment rate: 10.1% (41st)
Home price change (2006-2009): 1% (35th)
Median household income: $53,966 (17th)

Illinois finds itself with such a low ranking in part due to its high unemployment (10.1%) and in part due to its high debt per capita ($9,613.) The state also suffers from poor fiscal governance,

Yea, verily, I always turn to ‘Political USA’ & Salon for unbiased and enlightening journalism. Of course, left unmentioned were Rick Perry of Texas and John Kasich of Ohio, but that was just editorial judgement, right?

Gag, barf!

Is 8.21% annual job growth, or total growth from 2011 to 2015. The latter might be true.

I’m sure they think he’s brilliant- but only because he doesn’t have an r after his name- having a d after you name is the only requirement for being thought a genius by the msm- doesn’t matter what the qualifications or credentials are- doesn’t matter how far in the crapper the country is under him- just having the d is all it takes

So...Obama gets credit for job growth as a whole but Republican governors get the blame for poor job growth in their states?

Well interestingly, they point to Salon as their source for low marks against Jindal, Walker and Krispy Kreme but, they give no sourcing for their claim on the super duper, multi-magnnificent claim of 8.2% growth.

I’m sure if I had time to research I could easily tear apart that idiotic claim.

of note: we have more people available to work today than we did during the years indicated and yet, we have less work force participation than at anytime in 30 years...at least...

there was a huge burst of spending on health care with states implementing Obamacare.

In the short term, the states get a lot of benefit without too much of the cost, long term though, those states are going to pay forever.

Right now though, those states that didn’t implement.

The reason the job growth rate in Wisconsin might not be as large as other states is because Wisconsin didn’t lose as many jobs during the 2007-8 financial crash.

Actually, Wisconsin ranks 35th in job creation between 2011 and 2015.

Despite Walker’s success in getting his agenda passed by a Republican legislature, it has not resulted in significant economic improvement for his state.
